I honestly don't see your problem here.

I don't have a problem, actually, with it. It's just the comedy potential of it. I think it's good for Bush to take a strong (if naive in its optimism) stand against racism. I think it's good for him to make overtures toward groups he's been previously dismissive of, like the Congressional Black Caucus.

His record up to this point on the matter of racism has been, well, checkered... I see it as a good thing. But there are an awful lot of punchlines.

Because it's Bush. No Democrat would draw any attention from Keebler. To be fair tho, Embar would jump all over it saying its more Democrat pandering to minorities.

Clinton did some deeply ironic things too.

So you're using the "Clinton did it too" excuse? Eidolon?

No, I'm just saying comedy potential existed in many things Clinton did. The easiest one was any time he took a stand on sexual harassment.

You guys read WAY too much into things I say.

No Keebler, Im reading about the same things Bangzoom did. You claim this is just for comedy potential?

Somehow I doubt it. But I care not. Let's move on.

If this is about humor, start crackin' jokes. And I dont mean cracker jokes.

I take civil rights very seriously, so I don't see it as pandering to minorities... if he was talking about giving minorities special programs then I would see the pandering angle. I read the article and was quite pleased with his words on the subject. Taking a strong stand on a problem that really shouldn't exist anymore is a good thing. Things that we've grown to accept (some people are bigots) can also drive a wedge in our country's innovation (referring to other thread)
