Birth Control Pills = Abortion

Post by SicTimMitchell »

And no, we're not talking about RU486 or the "morning after" pill. We're talking about the reg'lar ol' pill.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3652462.stm
Dr Cynthia Jones-Nosacek - a family doctor in Milwaukee - now refuses to prescribe the Pill. She opposes it on moral grounds, arguing it is a form of abortion.

"The contraceptive pill doesn't always prevent ovulation. As often as 30% of the time, ovulation may occur and if that happens, fertilisation may occur," Dr Jones-Nosacek says.

"Then there are other mechanisms that can prevent that being from surviving. It's called a chemical abortion."

Jesus Christ..... Birth Control Pills are not 100% effective. This woman is a Doctor, and should know this. She has very little water to stand on when she's been perscribing them the whole time.

As far as the pharmiscets (i'm tired ok) denying someone their birth control pill perscription is like denying someone a medication to keep their psychosis under control because they believe God intended the person to be the way they are and we should love them anyway.

it's bullshit. When a man thinks he's David and is trying to baptize people in the street and becoming irrate and violent with the non believin sinners of the world he needs to be medicated. Now he is and he's perfectly fine. his family loves him, they just like him a whole lot more on the medication, because he's the way he used to be pre-breakdown.

Taking a stand is one thing, denying people something they ARE entitled to burns me up. Don't believe in abortion OR birth control ? you're not leaving much breathing room there are ya

Actually, you are not "entitled" to have the pharmacy of your choice give you the medicine you want. The pharmacy is 100% entitled to refuse to serve you anything they choose to for almost any grounds they want. That's the wonder of private business.

You can't seriously believe that "I don't believe in that" is a good enough reason to refuse a perscription Dd. I get the point and the theory, but it's still bull shit

Abstinence is the only 100% effective way to prevent abortion.

Ari,

Of course it's bullshit, but America is founded on the principle that people are perfectly within their rights to be complete idiots if they want to. Like it or not, you do not have the right to demand a particular pharmicist fill your prescription. You don't have the right to demand a particular doctor prescribe the pill. It's *their* decision and *their* moral values and they 100% have the right to believe whatever the hell they like.

Of course, if I caught my doctor putting religion before science I'd be switching to a new one in about 8 seconds.

the same freedom that give your pharmacist the right to refuse your prescription also gives you the right to find a new pharmacist.

Its a vailid reason to do so, however, they are still liable for the consequences of their actions, and doing so may affect their accreditaions.
