Without the rest of the message this could be anything. It should tell you the module on the second line, like this:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF9E2BB72, 0xF9FD30E4, 0xF9FD2DE4)
usbccgp.sys - Address F9E2BB72 base at F9E28000, DateStamp 3d6ddc33
0xC000001D is an illegal instruction error. Probably an incorrect or improperly installed driver. What were you doing when this happened?

Fortunately, at least one person who reads these forums knows how to use the internet, too.
Here are some links for you.

There was no module, and I used the internet Ozbee. Nothing was very helpful.
Turned out the jumpers were set wrong. I just assumed the CD was set to slave by default, because I pulled it out of another machine with the same setup. So much for assumptions.
Now the problems have moved on from hardware to Windows problems. Hoooooooray for errors.

XP CD's are bootable. You don't need an OS already configured to install XP.
One thing I've noticed about XP installations is that they can be quite touchy about the hardware in your system. You may want to disconnect all nonessentials during the setup process, then reconnect them once XP is up and running on your system. You shouldn't need anything besides the case, motherboard, memory, cpu, hard drive, cdrom drive, and the video card. Ditch the sound card, network adapter, secondary cd/dvd/hard drives, and any other option cards that you don't absolutely need for minimal function.
Once XP is up and running, install motherboard drivers and such if necessary, and then add the extra hardware back into the mix.
Good luck.

XP is really cranky about installing itself on a drive that had some previous version of Windows on it. Formatting the drive doesn't always work well enough to remove all the traces of the previous OS.
Bahd is right, partition your drive.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.
