It doesn't?
Hm.
And rape is, in fact, sometimes about sex, to the perp.
Wonder if the ACLU is against this...

Yeah, they can, but its usually very young males. Males tend to outgrow that when they hit their teens. By the time they hit their late teens, erections are a result of some type of stimulation (mental or physical).Arkaron wrote:Err, that was bad wording. Can't guys have erections randomly without it being sexually based (blood pressure and whatnot) or is that some sex-ed bullshit?
This is, of course, when they are awake. When males sleep, it is normal for them to have several erections a night, regardless of stimulation. In fact, erectile function while sleeping is used as a diagnostic tool to see if there is physical cause for erectile dysfunction. No erection during sleep = erectile dysfunction with a physical cause.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Actually, I'm not concerned about rehabilitating sex offenders one way or the other.
Sure, it makes sense to try. But since no theraputic method yet demonstrated, short of execution, has proven 100% effective, I'm still definitely in favor of specifically allowing the records of sexual predators who prey on children to remain public for a VERY long time.
You see, if the sexual predator finds peace and sorts out his or her life, bully for them. The goal, however, is to deny them ANY opportunity to repeat their crimes. I'm real sorry they feel all persecuted and unloved in their new neighborhoods, but they'd have kept it in their pants if they were really thinking ahead, wouldn't they?
Sure, we should try to help these people sort out their lives. But not to the extent that we risk them raping another innocent child. Ever.
I don't see what's so complicated about the issue.
