Sunchyne tell all.. kaldak, barkona, etc.

Well where to start. To begin I must make it clear that Ive been away from the game for about 2 years now full time, I dont play any games infact and am currently in the military. Infact I dont even have a computer and my friend here in the barracks is kind enough to supply me with my online needs whenever hes away / sleeping. So dont expect a bunch of replys and such since my time is extremly limited.

Why do I feel the need to make this thread? Basically boredom, mine and yours. I know mostly people who come here are old schoolers and might find this interesting, a little change to the nostalgia threads. This is my account of my EQ experiance which I feel may have been a bit more controversial than most. Im not using real names nor am i attempting to give off any hints of who the people are in real life as I believe its really not important. I would like to believe most of them, including myself, have matured a bit from when our EQ days were. I for refferance started play around the age of 14 or 15 I believe.

Where to start.. well the begining sounds like a good place.

I started EQ at a friends house playing his L14 monk which he hated. I shared his account for about a month before i purchased my own. I started a druid and quit him at 24. My druid was started 2 days after the banning of the character Barkona. I originally heard of the game from Barkona who was a friend of mine from work. I barely knew him but his compassion for the game made it pretty appealing and I decided to give it a look see, but to my dismay, the character I attempted to contact was not my friend from work, but a L3 monk that someone had made. Thats the quick begining for my EQ days.

At L24 on my druid Barkona who was using his real life girl friends account to play her druid (shiannahope or something) proposed to me I make a monk on a free account he had and help him level it up. He would play the druid and PL me and I would play the monk. This monk was made under the name Summertine. I played summertine until the level of about 40 when Barkona managed to get him banned. At this point Barkona had access to my account and managed to get some of the gear to it before the banning and created a new female monk.. Enter Sunchyne.

Sunchyne was created and played till about the 20th level by Barkona, at that point I took over and we started power leveling. Alot of people helped with the leveling. Kaldak was one of them. Kaldak was a school mate of mine and still is a very very good friend. He along with Barkona helped me level quite a bit. We made various guilds such as arcanum of shadows who actually had a few decent members.. if memory serves me right even the wonderous Minute graced our ranks for awhile, amoung others.

But as I got to know barkona (who has been playing shiannahope this whole time, along with mine and kaldak's accounts) I realized he wasnt quite the gamer I was. He had alot of different views and such and I just didnt agree with alot of the things he did. So about this time I was probabally 52ish in level. Enter Niteraptor. I met Nite in chardok one night and struck up the conversation out of boredom... I had alot of friendly conversations with people and never brought sex into it because I knew Bark had every convinced Sunchyne was a girl IRL when he played her and I felt it best not to meddle with his stuff. So eventually the question of Sex came up and I lied and claimed to be female... Fucked up? Definitly.

My views on the whole subject were that it was a RPG and what were the chances of me actually forming a friendship with someone I met online? Well I was wrong, because me and nite became pretty good friends, here and there it would be awkward because I would have to wessle my way out of a tight spot when it came to a female / male conversation but generally it was just bullshitting about EQ and RL and such.. stuff I talk about with my buddies. Never did anything wierd happen, and in Nites defense.. Im an extremly good liar / actor.

But anyways around this time Kaldak quit the game due to a problem with his recruitment to Legion of Heroes, Kassim / Binge / Shehehsheklsdfjsa fucked him over a few times and He was just sick of the whole thing, not to mention he was an all state swimmer and swimming season was starting. But he left his account with Barkona who took the reigns from there and completely tarnished the name of Kaldak. Im a big defender of the original Kaldak and always have been. Anyone from the old NToV days of LoH I think can agree with me that the original Kaldak was an stand up player / person and has an undeserved reputation.

As for Sunchyne I decided to apply to a few guilds. Hopped around and met some people such a spiritule (ass), Shadex (cool guy), Taladirmine (umm, yea), Angyy, etc. Shadex had a fight with Spiritule inthe guild we were in and left for a guild called Guardians of the Relics which had just been formed. Hating Spiritule I followed suit. GoTR was a fun guild and my first raiding experience and I loved it. But Tamniax was a bit much. The only thing that made him standable was the antics of members such as Burz, and Koldilox (one of brells best monks along with Zarb IMO).

While I was an app to GoTR Nite who was still a good friend convinced me to apply to watchers. I raided with SR / W and experianced Ssra and such and had an amazing time. The way those guilds worked together was purely amazing. But it was clear SR was the dominate of the two and after about a month of raiding with them Nite decided to leave watchers and Join SR, fucking me in the process by leaving me without a sponsor. The guild leader at the time said I could continue my app if I found a new sponsor (which I did), but due to nite leaving there was alot of bad blood. So I decided to go back to where friends were.

I left my app period with watchers and Applied to Drac. Drac was the most fun I had ever on brell. Tinkee, that druid whose name started with an I that i cant remember (3 - 4 years, gimme a break!), they were a blast. Not to mention we were raiding with GoTR whom I had alot of friends in from my previous recruitment. But then Tami ruined that by destroying Drac.

Now I know you guys want to Barkona dirt so that whole time he was attempting to form guilds of his own, unsucessfully and pretty much being a big stain on brells pants. Dont get me wrong, I like the kid, but he doesnt exactly play nice with others.

I applied to a few guilds like enshadowed but pretty much took a hiatus for awhile since Drac was really the guild I wanted to be a part of, but that wasnt possible now. was a bit to take. Alot of friends quit over it and was just kinda depressing. Around this time Barkona who was ass hurt that I wasnt following his master plan decided to make a post here anonymously alerting everyone Sunchyne was a man. This pretty much ruined my friendship with Nite and I believe was around the time He applied to afterlife and left brell. Most people didnt believe it and I could have kept playing her, but decided not to.

Enter Dobe. Dobe was a rogue I made right before PoP. I sold all of suns gear and twinked the fuck out of him. around L20 I met some people.. Angyy / Taladirmine. Yes thats right, people I already knew from sun, but they didnt know I was one int he same. I joined Angyy's guild and became much better friends with her. Funny though, Taladirmine liked me a whole lot less when he didnt think I was a chick. I found it extremly ammusing and used to drop hints and say things about him I shouldnt know just to toy with his head. Yea, I used to be a real asshole. But dobe wasnt what I was looking for and I hit the "Ebay" button and sold the account.

During this period I moved servers and bought a rogue on Bertox server. If anyone is interested the rogues name was Zodiax and I had a blast, made a ton of friends, raided to top content in the game and really enjoyed it, but had to quit because I was joining the military.

In review-
Barkona got banned right before I quit, but still played, hell, he still might play. I lost contact with him for 2 years. But you conspiracy theorist that thought he was kaldak were wrong, but right at the same time. By the way, might I add there are alot of two faced people on brell who were like best friends with Barkona in private, but in public renounced him like the plague.. alot that would surprise you. But im not into name dropping so much so I'll leave that one be.

Kaldak is a great guy and i love the huge fucker, one of my best friends. Has an undeserving rep.

Sunchyne was always a man, sorry for all the people I lied to. You all deserve to hate me / Bark for lying and well, what can I say. But Ive moved past it.

Oh and by the way I doubt any of you remember Spec12, but that was also me. All of it up to the last post that got him banned. The one where he threatened Laethor. That was Barkona, we were in 3rd period keyboarding class and he thought it was hilarious... I was less ammused.

If you guys have any questions regarding sunchyne / Barkona / Kaldak / anyone involved with them, feel free to ask. I dont really care about it anymore. I'll try to check this some time in the next few days, but work is crazy (anyone in the military knows that) and I dont know how much internet access im going to have.

There is only one thing I would like to say to this,

Guardians of the Relics which had just been formed.

GotR was actually orginally formed back in late 1999 by a small group of friends. It was not until almost 2 years later when it became expanded and grew to be a very large raiding guild.

This is true. I joined the original GotR in 1999 with Shadowwulf, Mustaffa, and Lanari. It was very small and just a good group of folks to have fun with on EQ. I "unretired" in January 2001 while recuperating from surgery on a badly broken ankle and met a nice druid in KC named Dakkin. We grabbed a few lvls in KC and hunted around together, then he joined the new GotR and invited me into it. Lots of nice people in that incarnation of GotR, but very different from the original cast.

Way back in the day. way way back.
The guild I was in "Shields of Light" went through a split. A bunch of people left SoL for GotR. If I remember the split was between the casual players and the driven power gamers. The power gamers went to GotR to raid High end content. It's weird to think back that far.

Hmmm......I could swear by the time Nite left Watchers that Drac had already disbanded and most of their members had come to Watchers. But my memory might be a bit hazy.

I remember running into Kaldak a few times, mostly because a friend's name was very close and people used to accuse him of being "that asshole Kaldak." I don't really remember any of the other names. I've only heard of Barkona because of the rant's board, same with Sunchyne.

Speaking of similar names, I named a female gnome "Pyzjim" and walked around Qeynos Hills a few times. It was funny only because players kept trying to attack me.

Flunkie, i did the same thing back in the day. Some of you may or may not know, but when i first started the game i would track Pyzjn in qeynos hills for plat, which i made a shitload of...this was probably sometime in 2000. I'd track for people like Anaharath, who was a necro in legion of heroes, and Runblebumble, an ogre shadowknight. One time i was tracking for Runble and he said if while i was tracking for him that he got the Glowing Black Stone, that he would give me a Short Sword of Ykesha...this was back when a GBS, SSoY, FBSS, and wurmslayers were uber and worth like 20K each...back when 20k was a shitload. I was tracking for him this one time and i went linkdead and when i returned he said that pyzjn spawned in the exact place where i went LD and a gnome magician named Aeremog killed pyzjn and she had the GBS. ~I have plenty of other fond memories that i can share but i know few really care to hear.

But once i made a human necro female with red hair and her name was some variation to Pyzjn, and newbs would try to attack me and i would say things like, ouch that hurt, and stuff. I remember once that i told some guy that i was Pyzjn's sister and that i was looking for her and he believed me.

I guess since the board changed to EQ rants, I should say Hellfire Club is on CT, which of course merged with Brell Serilis (BS) damn I just noticed that.....anyway, the post either seemed a direct attack at Sunchyne (reverse) because Sunchyne Irl is a guy (tho playes female toon) and I cant see some one raiding the content Hellfire Club is raiding as to opening this sort of thread up.

wait, once stoned on peyote I admitted to my girfriend I got 2 hookers and 2 8balls and partied for 2 days.... so who knows what drugs are involved here.

I acquired the account from who I assumed was the original Sunchyne about a year and a month ago, sometime in the middle of November 2004. I had played a 60 Warrior and 60 Ranger up until just after PoP came out on Sol Ro, and then took a break till just after OoW came out. A friend of mine wanted to get on Brell, so that's when I got Sunchyne. I have played her from lvl 64 or 65 with 3.5 K HP and 55 AA to lvl 70 9.3 K HP and 430 or so AA, and am now an officer in HFC.

As a sidenote, since this is my first post... I've been a long time reader, ever since the Page 8 mess got linked to a board I read over on Sol Ro, and I have to say I've had many an hour laughing while reading these boards. Thanks for all the great threads guys.

Here I thought you were just some gay random halfling (I think) rogue trying to get my hot wood elf in tights ass. But you did tell me at some point that you were Sunchyne. I do remember that. You still owe me 20pp cause I survived longer in lava than you!

There were hints you weren't a chick on Sunchyne. And Barkona was funny, minus the desire to kill and fuck over everyone. If you ever talked with him, he was actually a funny dude.
