wow "you will come and be fodder for another guild, you will not speak to them or look them directly in the eye, and never ever touch them or you will be flogged."
I dont understand how players can put up with this nonsense. Not only refusing to help a GUILDY who dies but REMOVING them from the raid so as not to offend your grand overlords who give you things their twinks dont want?? Thats beyond pathetic.
Fryar man, I know we have a bit of a laugh when you ct guilds get our washouts and asshats, I doubt anybody ever even says anything to anybody about it except "rflol" but you are really really scraping the bottom of the barrel with tori/crystalized here, as illustrated by his/her/its reguard for hisher/it's very own guildies.
Think carefully about whether or not you really want to create a caste system on your guild raids with these people. I forsee much drama that ultimately will hurt you a hell of alot more then simply waiting for some recruits to fill the spaces.

Sure I can let her stand up for herself. But what's that got to do with taking a shot at an asswipe like yourself?
And I see I hit a sore spot with you. Nice to know you're hyper-sensitive about the gay shit.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

What do you mean by "Let"?? You own her or something? Did you bend her over and force yourself into her ass?Sure I can let her stand up for herself
When did you gain ownership of select? I knew she was a whore but I didn't know you owned her.
How much did it cost you? An oreo and a cup of piss?
Just wondering

I was in a guild that did this. We had probably 7 or 8 high level Melee types and it was decided to do this loot council crap. What ended up happening was one guy got a bunch of high end No Drop gear to beef him up as "The guild tank". A few months later he quit the guild because he was working a new job and too busy to play more than a few hours per week. Oh he was very sorry that he took all that no drop gear, and even gave a bunch of money and other gear to the guild. But the fact is that the guild had just wasted a bunch of gear awards on a guy that bailed out.
The only way I can see a loot council working is if it was only for tradable gear. All No Drop gear had to be rolled on or DKP. But we all know the good stuff is No Drop, so whatever.

Come on man, it is way different to EARN dkp and spend it and then leave the guild, than to be handed high end items for nothing and then leave the guild. I wish it was but one example, but the loot council stuck to their guns and it happened repeatedly for different reasons, thus I and my partner bailed out on the guild.
A major side effect of this kind of policy is that players that feel cheated out of high end gear bail out on the guild too, not just the ones with RL reasons. So the guild was left weakened by their loot council policy, because nobody is going to stay with a guild like that unless they are being are the ones being handed top gear. Last I heard, the guild I was in had "just broken into the Elemental Planes", what is that, like 3-4 year old content? Nice people but they never went anywhere and aren't going to any time soon.

Well I assumed we were talking about similiar guilds using the same system. There really is no difference to the guild.....once the items are gone......they are gone. How they were given to the player that leaves is imaterial.
If you are in a "feeder" guild.......you are going to have more problems with DKP than council.......because the "hard core" players are going to buy the most loot......and will be the first people inclined to leave for greener pastures.
Bottom line......join a good guild of people you know and trust.

There is no difference to the guild when your main tank bails whether they've won the loot from council or DKP. The difference is a council system can recognize that a player with high playtime may bail and distribute the gear differently so as not to put all the eggs in one basket, while a DKP system is hamstrung by the rules set in place.Flunkie wrote:HAHAHA BULLSHIT!!!Ddrak wrote:Loot council is by far the best, fairest and most constructive method for distributing loot to further guild goals and improve members equipment.

Take the (all too common) example in a guild that is 4th or 5th on the server. You get a brand new tank who has almost infinite playtime because he's on summer vacation. His DKP skyrockets and he accumulates a bunch of gear only to be very "sorry" he has to leave because his fish died (but you see him in the 2nd top guild on the server one week later) and leave you with nothing. In a loot council situation you can limit the gear the new high playtime people get until they have proven that they are dedicated to the guild and not just using you as a stepping stone.
What you're really saying is that a loot council can be a lot more stupid than DKP, and that is true. That's not the point though. A loot council has the opportunity to be far smarter than DKP ever could be, and that's the real key - to get smart players leading the guild and distributing the loot in the way that benefits the guild the most.
