Looks like I will have to brave the perils of the employee store again and try and get this.

I'm really enjoying this. The DVD qualities are good, like the live action fillers, which is a nice break in the campaign. It's not the best acting, but its way better than the old Wing Commander stuff that Luke (Mark Hammill) was in.

Other than that, I really like the gameplay. Good graphics, good interface and thoughtful challenges.

fun game, I am on the Scrin campaigns and they are fun. I'll always be a total Mammoth Tank junkie. I really love the cheesing acting and the fact that so many "real" actors are in this one, it makes me giggle. I have had fun with it SP, but haven't really ventured into the MP aspect. I have never been a fan of RTS MP because the people that play just get way too into it.

Walrus,

Did you immedately swith to hard on the SP campaign? I did the first five GDI campaign levels and found the normal difficulty to be stupidly easy.

no, my problem is I don't like the non-building levels. I like to build shit and then blow other shit up. The missions with the commandos or masterminds are just fucking annoying (in my opinion)

I just started doing MP, and to be honest, the Scrin are totally imba. I've been zerged by their versions of the rocket infantry and got destroyed. I've also been destroyed by a fucking fleet of scrin things. All the other races I've destroyed at these lower levels. But the Scrin are just amazing to lose to.

I have always played completely through the campaign modes beginning to end before I played MP or skirmish modes. And that is true of all the RTS games I have owned.

C&C, Civ II & III, Starcraft, Warcraft (all three), Age of Empries (all three), Supreme Commander

I really liked the campaign mode for both the Dungeon Siege and the LoA expansion. I spent more time on this game than any of the other games I played post-EQ. I have not played DS2 and probably won't. Supreme Commander and C&C3 will keep me going for the next couple years.

I going to have to play it eventually, because I loved DS and the expansion. It was like a mini-EQ, sans quests and you got to control the whole group. I really liked it. And then when I figured out how to add stuff to the game, like killer chicken drops, it got much better.

OK, this game just got really hard. I'm almost all the way through the GDI campaign and it's getting time consuming and really hard.

Where are you guys at, those whom are playing?

GDI campaign is easy.. When they give you resources and a huge tiberium filed you just have to know how to rapid build to get defenses and rush the enemy. If you bunker up you will get squashed.

The base defense mission with limited power was the only challenge in GDI campaign honestly.

Man - I would get killed in GDI then if that's the case. My entire RTS game revolves around bunkering up.

beat it awhile ago... the trick to GDI is obviously the mammoth tank since it has no weakness (missiles for air defense and the rail gun is just amazing). This is assuming you have the rail gun upgrade.

For Nod, the missions start becoming a joke when you get the laser upgrade and just build 50000 scorpion tanks.

For the aliens, when you get the walker, its just ridiculous.

You can still bunker with GDI.. just when playing through the campaign you have to make sure you hit important objective before you go full bore bunker.. You need to take out the super weapons before you bunker up or your base will be decimated.

And yeah.. Mammoth tanks are just absurd. Get 18-24 of those and you can decimate anything.. The only thing that gave them a run for their money was the unlimited alien battleships over the control node in the final mission..
