Year Zero

Post by Partha »

Kicks much ass. Trent takes the old sound from Pretty Hate Machine and infuses it with the stuff he's picked up as he's gone along in his career. As with every album, there's a couple of songs I could do without, but there's plenty of highlights in this one. Personal favorite so far is Me, I'm Not.

Listen to the whole thing here before you grab it, if you don't trust me.

I'm not typically a nine inch nails fan, but I dig this album. I really like the sound Capitol G. Good stuff.

It's a good album, but I'd still have to say it's Reznor's worst. Instrumentally, it's every bit as good as I'd expect of NIN. Unfortunately, the lyrical quality is going down. It used to be that every song on a Nails album was a masterpiece. Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, Fixed, Downward Spiral, The Fragile...each of those had no more than one, maybe two songs I didn't care for, usually because the lyrics were just bad or a little cheesy. With Teeth and Year Zero have been about 50/50 between good and bad songs, imo.

I'm still enjoying Year Zero, however. It's still leagues better that most of the crap out there, I just think it's weak for Nine Inch Nails.

So is Trent Resnor still the most pretentious, no-talent asshat to ever make music?

With Teeth is leaps and bounds better than Fragile, imo. Fragile is 2 discs of boredom.

The Fragile is a great headphone set.
