Blades of Glory

Post by Kulaf »

Awesomely funny. If you haven't seen it you should go see it in a theatre where you get full effect of audience laughter. My friend and I were literally crying we were laughing so hard.

Will Farrell needs to be shot in the back.
I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass.

Wow really? I think I watched half the trailer before my attention span was shot down the drain. Farrell is alright in my mind, but the ND guy really get on my nerves.

God bless Will Ferrell. He never seems to fail at supplying me with a movie I can take a girl to and not be bored to fucking shit. Now, to find that figure skater's number...

Personally I thought it was funnier than both Anchorman and Talladega Nights, though I had been a little worried that the commercials would ruin it altogether. Thankfully it pulled through and showed that it had so much more hilarity to offer.

I hate when all the best lines a comedy has to offer have already been shown in the commercials.

Yeah, that's promising that all the commercials didn't show the good stuff and leave you with a bunch of poo in the theater.

Anchorman and Talledega Nights left me without having anything good to say about them. OK, sometimes funny, but not entertainment I'd prefer to spend money on. I'm afraid Blades will do the same.

Fingle, I actually hated both of those movies as well, and yet, I surprisingly enjoyed this one.

I would have enjoyed it more as a rental though. You didn't need to see it on the big screen.

Sure you do. Comedy is a shared experience. Seeing any comedy by yourself is never as funny as seeing it with a room full of people.

Hmm... comedy as a shared experience? Maybe in the case of Rocky Horror. Will Farrell? I have a hard time with that one. You may be right, though.

Maybe you should try out your shared experience on other genres, Kulaf. Like Man Bites Dog. That's a good film to watch in a large group. People's reactions are interesting. I watched that at a college campus theatre (one of those free showings at the local university theatre) a number of years ago and a couple locals (not college students; older people) got up and left in the middle of the film. The expressions on their faces was priceless.

Well I wouldn't be watching it alone and one other person is plenty to enjoy a comedy.

Yeah, especially if she has big tits.

I hate Will Ferrel. Every movie he's ever been in sucked monkey nuts save Old School and Anchorman and both of those were only good because of the rest of the cast. In fact, all of his SNL stuff sucked save Celebrity Jeopardy, and again saved by the supporting cast.

Oh and this movie... you know every single comedy bit they are going to attempt to do before they do it. Yeah you laugh a few times through the movie, but it has nothing to do with the actors at all. Absolutely nothing original at all.
