the cake is a lie
has anybody here tried portal yet? Imo its the most innovated game I have played in years. It was a bit too easy but fun as hell (remeniscent of rocket jumping maps in quake, but relying heavily on problem solving rather then simple reflexes)
And the campaign is funny as hell and extremely well done, very engaging towards the end especially for how barebones the plot is.

Re: the cake is a lie
I got heartbreaker, but I don't have time (sadly) to get really good at it and do all the challenges.
Hell of a game, and I look forward to the sequel.

Yeah played through this game as soon as I got the Orange Box. I loved it.
My favorite level was probably the one where your cube has little pink hearts on it and there are drawings/love notes all over the wall about people falling in love with it. Too funny.
The level that took me the longest was the second to last one. I could not figure out that fucking small room with the acid to save my life.

I just got the orange box the other day, mostly for TF2, but Portal does look interesting. Is it single player?

Yes - purely single player. Multiplayer portal would be... interesting...Freecare Spiritwise wrote:I just got the orange box the other day, mostly for TF2, but Portal does look interesting. Is it single player?

Multiplayer Portal would be crazy. I'm sure people could come up with some interesting ideas for this. The more I think about it, the more fun it sounds.Ddrak wrote:Yes - purely single player. TF2 is pretty fun too. Does anyone have Orange Box for xbox360 or are ya'll referring to PC? Not that there are any differences between the two (that I know of) but if someone wants to TF2 it up on xbox live, let me know.

Re: the cake is a lie
I've got the orange box for the PC. So you're saying that Xbox users can't play TF2 with the PC version?
TF2 just looks awesome the little bit I've played so far. My problem is that it's so fast paced, it's hard to learn and contribute to the team at the same time. There's also variants in the rulesets, which is confusing. I figure while I'm learning I'll just roll a heavy gunner and defend the "flag", but some game variants have everyone run outside and it gets confusing just what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. A couple times someone said "what the hell are you doing?" in teamspeak and I didn't even know how to reply LOL.
Anyone have any links to TF2 tutorials?
Another question: How do you change the player name that it shows in the game? I created my Steam account as my full name, and that's what it shows to everyone else. I'm a big enough lamer as it is...
