Re: Air Car
Interesting. Not sure how comfortable I'd be with some 5000psi compressed air tanks sitting right under my butt though...

Re: Air Car
You'd have to ask Tax and Jaro about that.. they (and Select, according to some of the older posts) may have insight on how to deal with high pressure force on the bunger.Ddrak wrote:Interesting. Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Re: Air Car
What makes it any different than having a highly flammible liquid sitting inside your veichle, waiting to be ruptured - to ignite and burn your seatbelted ass alive (in the event of an accident) ?Interesting. Not sure how comfortable I'd be with some 5000psi compressed air tanks sitting right under my butt though...

Didn't your mama ever tell you not to tango with a carrot?

Re: Air Car
The air tanks are carbon fiber, so they'd just split lengthwise. A video on the zeropollution.us web site (car's manufacturer) touches on this as a safety feature. There's also a part of the video that shows an air powered go-cart pulling a full sized pickup truck from stop.
Apparently, these cars have been in prototype since the late-90's, and have been driven successfully in France & India.
Guess it took all the "green" stuff to get clearance into the States. *conspiracy face*
