Dd,
I wholeheartedly disagree with your statement that the admins/mods of the Brell board have the final say. When we decided to take our free time to do this work we agreed that we are only here to help and maintain the community of Brell. If the community decides it doesn't want a service like reservations then ok there aren't any, but for us to say nope that's it no more it just proves the "oppression" theory. Just to prove my point look how people screamed when VS came down etc. If we are going to end reservations all together then that should be decided by the community.

Cre,
My point was that it's your choice (and always will be your choice) to follow the wishes of the "community" or not. The "community" cannot force you to do anything you don't want to do but you can decide to listen to them if you want and act within what you see as their wishes and what you think is best for them. You are not an automaton - you are a free thinking person with the experience in the game to recognize workable ideas from non-workable ones.
Would you seriously continue to support a system that you saw and believed was self destructive even if the majority of the community seemed to want it?

Ok my point here is this... I am listening to the people that need to raid there, or enjoy raiding there. How am I doing that? I look to see how many times they are reserving a plane. I can tell when it is just for epic drops (I know that isn't in the rules but when you claim an item you are at least hoping to kill that mob) or whether it is for a learning experience. After a year of doing the Fear/Hate reservations (I think) and following thhe board on a whole before that... that is how I listen to those people. I know many of them don't come here, and don't post their opinions on the brell boards at all. In fact, many of them down't go there, but I will go out to the people raidings guild boards and take a look at things jsut to get a feel.
I care a whole lot about the community, it is why I give my spare time to it. I am happy to do it, but... when there is an issue like this, I do get frustrated. I am the first to admit it, I may not be the first to get frustated <winks at Crelone> but I am fairly vocal on how I feel about it.
Now you all can argue back and forth about whant an oppressor I am, how evil I am etc... what you will find is that I care about what I do, and if I didn't, I wouldn't do it.

Fellow Brellians, Awea is ready to come out of the closet. But I do feel lonely, having been in your closet unused for the last year or so.

Edyil, sadly you are part of the considerate minority. The majority are greedy fuchks with amnesia
Welcome to 2003 in EQ.
Over time, uber mobs become newb fodder and the respect/consideration involving those mobs fades. If you aren't on the fast track I guess you miss out.
Or at least this was the case when I retired so long ago.
I can appreciate the 'FCFS on epic mob' argument. Let's say an epic mob spawns, but several raids fail in clearing it for several days. This is not making best use of resources.
Either way it still sucks. Good luck Edyil.

I'll tell you this much for free. Most raid guilds don't scour the Brell Board's "Looking for more" section on a nightly basis to see when and where they can't raid.Another exampls is Chardok Royals. If we have a force ready to go but I notice on the boards that someone has posted LFmore for Royals, we would respect their implied meaning - they are reserving them. Most folks do respect it.
Hm.. the Brell "rules" have been this way for a long long time now, at least for a year that I can recall, and probably a lot longer. I don't have an issue with the planes being reserved for those who'll use the armour, but if people like you want to abuse the spirit of the rules to reserve epic mobs, then I'm all for their abolishment. Its the fuctards like Dd and AC they screw it up for everyone - spewing they are entitled the mobs because they can get there first. Thats simply BS.
Yes, ABUSE. The only reason the reservations remain now is for the armour mobs. Regardless of what you THINK they SHOULD be for.
This whole rant by yourself and Zampyr Cocopops simply sounds like a big whine that the rules that have LONG been in place are different to what you wish they were.

An easier way would be to simply have another vote-poll on the Brell Board. It'd save you the time of writing another 1000 words of bullshit, too. Maybe when Hate-B comes across to us it'll be time for a new vote..I was thinking last night about this and those posting here... the guilds they are in and why they are so ademently against reservations in general. I was trying to think of a test that would show you folks are in the minority. Sort of like a band of lawyers sticking in loopholes so you can still get your phat lewt.
Myself and, say Ddrak could write up a 1000 word document each. Mine for complete reservations and his against it. Then we could round up guild officers and have them vote. The voting could take place via email, counted and verified in-game. So basically we would direct all the guild leaders to a site with the two documents, they read them, do an online email (filling out a simple form that sends the vote) and we count them.
The voting options can be:
I am against all reservations
I am for reserving all boss/epic mobs
I am abstaining
I see no basis in your suggestion to limit voting to guildleaders either. I know guilds with 10 members and guilds with 100+ members. Not to mention lots of unguilded people, like myself.
Sadly, I'd imagine that the results of such a poll would be such that your stupidity ended up fucking up planar reservations for everyone, including those younger raiders still cutting their teeth and being damned happy to get and use their Fear armour. But then again, your friend Zamphyr has shown her/his contempt for them already...
Ans as much as she and I have a special love for one another, I have to agree with Saph's post on this in it's entirety.Y'know what? Fuck the armor mobs.

re: umm
If you had plane reserved...... /petition
I dont understand why this would be brought here.
I would have to assume that since you do not know how the system works that you also did not even talk with them and so have no merit in this rant.

Prolly because reservations are something we as a community came up with as a rule and are in no way backed or enforced by the GMs or Sony.
Back in your hole, read the thread next time.
