SharePoint

Dd/Freecare/Whoever else- have you ever worked with SharePoint? So far I fucking hate it. Everything feels overly tedious and nothing seems to work like I want it to. I'm hoping that it's just a lack-of-experience issue and that the system doesn't just suck this badly...

PS: I'm using WSS, not MOSS. I'm not sure if there is a huge difference, but I'm getting the feeling that WSS is the borderline "trial" version of MOSS...

Haven't used it, but I know some people who swear by it. It's probably lack of experience because I do know that it's very powerful and some large companies use it too. Powerful and clunky describes quite a few MS products.

I always saw it as the Visual Basic of web collaboration systems. Non-technical people cobble together some amazing shit with it, but most tech-savvy people seem to look elsewhere.

Then again, I haven't looked that closely so could be mistaken. I think you're right about WSS vs MOSS too.

I think a lot of my frustration is coming from the limitations of working with WSS instead of MOSS. For example, we need to enable the top navigation of the site to have drop-down menus. ezpz, right? In MOSS it's all there already and you simply place things where they should go (according to what I've read). In WSS, there is only one level of navigation supported from within the web interface, so you have to do some hacky shit to get drop downs working from those.
