Then I start to wonder where mr record sales is.

I mean, this is his home state, isnt it? The beloved country that, in his own words, has taken so many steps forwards on racial equality. Lets this slide vs a skit in australia, where nothing is sacred, and he gets upset over some skit involving blackface and one guy insinuating ole MJ the chester is white. Any coincidence that he had an album release the same week?
What a fookin tosser , I think both men should be driven over. One for such assinine behavior, the next for being so fake about a "belief" he certainly has rushed back here between record promotions to stand up for racial injustice.
I am disgusted at both men, and yea..I put it in one post. LIke a ham and cheese sammich.
Hey Harry, Where are you now?

Re: Hey Harry, Where are you now?
I'm pretty sure the only reason Harry said anything about the TV show was, you know, he actually APPEARED in it. I'm sure if he tried to marry Grace Slick in front of that judge and got denied, he'd say something about that.

Re: Hey Harry, Where are you now?
I was a little "whu" about this post. It just seems like an over-reaction (other than about the JOP which is pretty disgusting). But with regards to Harry Connick, I see no correlation between the two let alone a reason to have "equal" disgust. I don't think Harry is asked how he feels about everything racial that happens in his state let alone this country. He happened to be on the show and was asked because he appeared to be uncomfortable.
I don't think him responding to a question honestly makes him a phony "tosser". I see no reason what so ever to be upset by Harry's response to a question regarding a show he was appearing on.

Re: Hey Harry, Where are you now?
I guess we can all be naive to think he had no idea what was on the menu. I guess I am becomming a GOP then if I see someone doing a bullshit "act" of disgust just at the same time they are touring asia to promote an album. Yet cannot make a follow up statement about something even moreso blatantly racist.
I give him, the judge and the show a thumbs down.
I congradulate the couple on finding someone else not a shithead and allowed them to marry.

I think you are just being histrionic about things in general. It's like you want to get upset and have trouble being rational. What Harry did wasn't a big deal. He responded to a question about his reaction, he didn't ask for airtime to do it.
He didn't grab their microphone and say "imma let you finish.....the real Jackson's were the best entertainers of all time, this is racist".

Re: Hey Harry, Where are you now?
The show was "Hey Hey It's Saturday" and was running a reunion special. The particular segment in question was "Red Faces". Basically people do a short skit and a set of celeb judges give them a score out of 10, typically not being allowed to finish before getting a gong (think Idol crossed with The Gong Show). For the special they brought back the acts that won on the early shows in the 70s. Harry was a celeb judge and gave the particular act a 0/10, explaining that he was offended by it. He really didn't make a big deal of the whole thing at the time on air though he did state off-camera that if he wasn't allowed to say why he was offended by it he'd walk off and not perform later. All fair really and hardly worth the big outcry we had over here. Basically a poor decision on the part of the producers to bring back an act that really was in poor taste for a US judge.

Re: Hey Harry, Where are you now?
My mistake on him not asking for time to explain himself, I hadn't read that. Coming from the US, I am pretty sure he was very concerned about how he would come across back home if he didn't say anything and probably did find it offensive. I'm not sure how anyone could read into this that it was phony, just because he hasn't commented on issues back home. I would assume he's trying to keep a lower profile after that because there was some backlash from Aussies while he was still there promoting himself. In fact I think his handlers cancelled a couple of appearances for safety reasons.
Either way, I don't get why anyone would be affected by this let alone outraged, unless person just has a hard-on to get outraged about benign events.

Remember the Ted Danson/Whoopi thing? Nobody complained because people who were there ran away from that one as quickly as possible.
