Terra Nova
+ Concept is pretty cool. Has potential.
- I hate time travel. It's such a cop out. They try to explain it by "time streams" but that's pretty weak. When I first heard about this show I thought they were going to a new planet to start over. That would have been cooler.
- A little too dramatic. Was hoping for something more realistic. Maybe shows like Breaking Bad is just spoiling me.
+ Stephen Lang. Granted, exact same role as Avatar, but that's ok he's cool. Plays a good asshole.
- Needs more hot chics & less teenage love bullshit.
All in all, not a terrible show but I have to say it's probably going to be the biggest disappointment of the fall season. I was really expecting to be blown away.

Re: Terra Nova
I haven't heard about this one at all but a ton of my facebook friends are raving about it. I'll check it out in a couple weeks if I keep hearing good things.

Re: Terra Nova
It has potential, but the special effects aren't the greatest and I'm kind of over the whole ...must include reckless, whiny, angsty teen character with love interest always getting into fucking trouble plotline.
I want to like it because I really like Jason O'Mara (Life on Mars), but dinosaur shows aren't really my thing. It started out promising because it's my favorite setting (dystopian or apocalyptic futures), but then it went Land of the Lost meets Avatar with a B-Movie budget.
Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't they worried about the astroid-comet-whatever-the-hell-cataclysmic event that took out the dinosaurs? I know dinosaurs had a long stomp on the planet (over a hundred million years), but still....do they really know where in the timeline they are?

Re: Terra Nova
I'm going to give it a few more episodes before I officially label it "don't like", because it has promise, it's just not going to hold my attention if it doesn't go anywhere interesting or have less lame teenage crap.
Back to complaining for a minute....why the hell does the teenager's supposed teenage love interest have bags and wrinkles under her eyes?

Re: Terra Nova
TV shows, rock bands, book series, etc. usually start out great and get worse over time. Or at least stay flat. I've never seen or heard anything that started out mediocre and got progressively better, finally reaching awesomeness. So if doesn't slap me up side the head and scream "watch me" then it's probably not something I'm interested in. Doesn't sound like it from what you guys are saying.
Person Of Interest did that for me though. Just passing through it caught my attention and I was transfixed.

Re: Terra Nova
I downloaded and (tried to) watch Terra Nova this weekend. I ended up turning it off in favor of League of Legends, because, zzzzz.

Re: Terra Nova
I have the pilot on my DVR but Harlowe's description of the angsty teen thing is turning me off big time.
It's the same thing with any show that has a kid with a lisp. It's like, you don't get hired in a show or movie unless you sound like the "Bees and dogs smell fear" kid from Jerry McGuire.
And right now, angsty teens annoy the fuck out of me.
I was trying to get into "The Event" but the 20-something couple were angsty teens in 20-year-old-bodies and it made me cry.
It would be nice to see teens that are edgy and smart and not full of emo shit.

Don't bother. The Event was canceled. Too bad too, it was starting to get slightly better by the end.

Re: Terra Nova
I watched the first 3 episodes and so far it's OK. It could be great but the acting isn't spectacular. The wife watches Breaking Bad with me so watching this with her is the least I can do. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.
