This game surprised me. I picked it up on a Steam deal and it's been pretty engaging and amusing at the same time. Aside from the constant parodies of SF/F games and movies, the combat system is clever:
You have infinite mana, finite health and cast spells by selecting combinations of up to 5 of the 8 elements at your disposal (repeats are allowed). Each combination does something different based on the elements you've chosen to put together. On top of that, you can cast each spell as directed, PBAE, on yourself or as a weapon buff and the effects are different again based on it. Spamming PBAE is a perfectly valid strategy if you can type out the right spell combo each time you want it.
Also has 4-player co-op and now PvP as well as a bunch of DLC. Good bargain bin stuff to keep you occupied for a while.
It's a fun game. The guys at Paradox Interactive have given us a ton of codes for this one and all of it's dlc/expansions. Magicka: Vietnam is also hilarious as it's making fun of Battlefield and the ilk.
Awesome. I went ahead & bought the 4 pack. Me & some friends played online. I have to say the multiplayer thing is pretty awesome & the game itself really is hysterical. Really shows what you can do with good creative skills & dialogue without simply throwing more & more extreme graphics at things. Not to mention you gotta love the price tag. 10 bucks? That rules

FYI Magicka was the game deal of the day yesterday, so if you were thinking of getting it, you have about 3 hrs left to get it for $2.49. This is the complete collection that has all DLC except the brand new one.
