Yeah, that was cool, thanks. I'm totally psyched for the new season.

Hope everyone had a good V-day. I don't get all the hate about his holiday. I get that some people might not have someone special in their lives and feel left out and/or bitter about it. But all things considered, what's so wrong with celebrating love? The world probably needs more of it. We celebrate grown men bashing the shit out of each other with the Superbowl, so why not give the chicas some love and celebrate how awesome they are? Seems like a no-brainer to me /shrug.

It seems like it's somehow cooler to hate on Valentine's Day or say "we don't do Valentine's Day" like it's some badge of honor for a couple, but I like Valentine's Day, it's sweet. Gorgeous flowers in your cube in February are kind of awesome for getting you out of a Winter funk.

I agree.

You know, if I see, "Valentine's Day is a Greeting Card Commercialized Holiday" type posts on my Facebook page enough, I'll run right out and jump on the haters bandwagon!

Or....

If I hear "EVERY day is Valentine's DAY for us" enough, I'll buy into that bullshit too.

I enjoy it. It's fun. Mr. Lulu and I got all dressed up and had a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant (sans the kid). Had great wine. Had wonderful conversation. Flowers, cards, chocolates. I even got a nice pair of earrings (and bought him an Autobots t-shirt).

When I wasn't with someone, I guess I never got all weepy on V-day. I just hung with my other single girl-pals and watched awful chick-flicks (or marathons or Sex and the City).

It's all good.

Yeah all the Facebook posts "it's just a commercialized holiday we don't do V-Day blah blah or we show love and romance year round yada yada" is boring. Let people enjoy it if they enjoy it and stop being a buzzkill.

Guys shouldn't be hating on it, because most women know this....

Maybe I just don't have that angst that some people have. I'm prety sure I'm not hip, and that's OK. If I thought it was a stupid and pointless holiday then I just wouldn't acknowledge it. V-what?

When people act like they have been stabbed in the genitalia by the mere mention of the V-word then I think they might have deeper issues other than the commercialization of national holidays. Just sayin' :)

You know that thing about how gay people were on edge all the time about the straight lifestyle being pushed on them? Yeah, it's like that. Us single people are miserable enough without a special day for people to poke at you.

We don't celebrate V-day, we merely acknowledge that she's put up with me for another year on that day. :P

I got my guy a really nice, cushy computer chair. Not exactly romantic, but he's been using a crappy Target chair for years. I did buy him the latest Twilight movie and wrapped that up as a decoy. Lame, but his immediate expression opening it was worth it.

Opening a Twilight movie as a gift for me would definitely be a WTF moment. I just mentioned this to the missus now and she said " HAHA THAT'S WHAT I'M GETTING YOU FROM NOW ON"

I like to make my own pizza dough with my handy dandy Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer. I think my recipe comes from easypizzacrusts.com or something like that. At some point I stopped making pizza and started making twisty bread and now that's what everyone bugs me for.

The missus and I just went out to a nice resturant without the kids. Though we did talk about how our kids are grown up and WTF are we going to do with this free time and money lol. We also bought each other gifts, which consists of "You bought me this, thanks, you're the greatest." She's still having a hard time deciding what purse I bought her for V-day. She bought me a Maxpedition tactical "rat wallet" which was immediately dubbed the "man purse". Hey, I got a lotta stuff to carry.

We're actually going out for V-Day this weekend, but he sent me flowers at work, ordered my favorite chocolates (from Legacy Chocolates in WI -http://www.legacychocolates.com/yum) and bought a few bottles of my favorite splurge wines. I love a good Pinot Noir and it's not a cheap wine to love because it's a fussy grape.

Ooh I also got a bottle of Zuccardi Malamado Malbec Port. I'm not a huge port fan because it can be over-the-top sweet, like thick syrupy-sweet, and taste like wood, but I could have drank 3 glasses of this.
