Re: The Returnees Thread
On a positive note. I found my Fungi vest. Man, I thought I gave that away when I bailed.
Mal: Seems we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.
Mal: Ain't we just.

I think the info glut of being away so long has been the most difficult part of coming back.
I'm having a pretty good time though.

Yeah, I did a couple of little anniversary quests, did a level 75 hot zone quest and got an upgrade to my belt. I'm still unuber after all these years.

Did I read right that you can't use your augment/gear in Free to Play?
I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass.

Re: The Returnees Thread
I left shortly after Luclin came out and I have heard a little about all of the xpacs over the years and it does seem daunting at this point to return. I like the look of project99 as they are only the first few xpacs but I don't care for sim servers. It feels so transient that I never want to put much effort into it.
I'd kill for recapturing the old EQ feeling but I think I need to just enjoy the nostalgia for what it is and stop looking for it.

I believe you have to be on "Gold", which is basically what a subscription used to be.Turaylon Soulshadow wrote:Did I read right that you can't use your augment/gear in Free to Play?

Re: The Returnees Thread
P99 is far from it. Rogean (the guy who runs the server) and his staff are all corrupt douchebags, and the raid game on there will make you wonder how some of their players manage to not choke on their own spit while sleeping. It's a combination of people so bad at the game they make Subtle look like Viken, and people so immature that even a World of Warcraft server would be too difficult for them to grasp 'not being a douchebag' on.Raize Na'ir Al'Saif wrote:I left shortly after Luclin came out and I have heard a little about all of the xpacs over the years and it does seem daunting at this point to return. I had the same issues you did and I was still able to get my account up and running recently. They are not as strict as they used to be and you can get it back with a little patience.Falundir X`Viento wrote:I'd load it up and go roam old world areas for memories, but I dont remember my password, have cd keys or the card I opened the account with... That's not true. You can't use "prestige" items, which is fine because there's a ton of non-Prestige augments/items/etc available. I don't recall what of my gear is prestige flagged, but it isn't much that I couldn't rep with something equivalent.Freecare Spiritwise wrote:I believe you have to be on "Gold", which is basically what a subscription used to be.Turaylon Soulshadow wrote:Did I read right that you can't use your augment/gear in Free to Play?
I am: Arkaron (necro), Juniper (druid), and Pensatia (ench). Say hi! We can go beat up stuff!
I logged back in. I am late-ish EST time (after 9pm) and in Poison Arrow. W!
edit: also, holy everliving fuck, if Ark wasn't a monster before, she certainly is now. My dots crit for 30k and I'm nowhere near cap level/aa.

That counts out 90% of the posters on the boards!Arkaron wrote:Also if you are not a raging ass kayak you're welcome to join PA.
I've been making actual $$ selling stuff on EZserver (apparently people will still pay big for shit on a free server).

Re: The Returnees Thread
Hi guys. Saw Brell rants, this thread, got my password reset(which was easier than logging in here..JFC-short for Jesus Fucking Christ). Then I logged on...and puked a little in my mouth. 7 years, and still triangle hills, and square trees.

The hills are still triangles.
And the trees are still blocks.
