Well, I am pretty sure he was trying to have a whine about the (provably wrong) notion the media has a anti-GOP bias, but it sure did come out a bit... odd.
Reason and cognitive consonance are anathema to authoritarianism. And the Grand Old Party has nothing but authoritarianism and othering left in its tank.
