Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Post by Taxious »

Saw a pre-screening of this just now and generally liked it. I wouldn't recommend paying theater prices to see it, but it's probably worth a view if you liked Wanted (what is it with this director's obsession with trains not making it across bridges??) or enjoy mindless action movies.

Really? Looks fucking horrible. I mean I was kinda cringing when I was watching the trailer but when he swung the axe at the tree at the end & the fucking thing exploded my eyes rolled all the way up as I mentally wrote it off as a no-see.

Ya right? I mean EQ should have ax's that can do that sorta damage! In my opinion its just in poor taste for hollywood to take one of the greatest presidents we've ever had and turn him into some kinda pop-culture vampire killer. I mean havn't we've had enough of friggin vampire movie's?

Whats next? Air bud vampire slayer?

I had Minute's reaction to seeing the trailers. I just don't think I can do this one. The trailers made it look like the most absurd, ridiculous piece of crap ever.

I'm so not into this one either. Pride and Prejudice Zombies sounds more interesting. I haven't read either book.

But, yeah . . . Anything with Tim Burton's name on it sends me screaming. Why the fuck can't Rufus Sewell get a decent part anymore? He's always the cheesy bad guy now with the exception of Pillars of the Earth.

Need to go watch Dark City again to scrub the vampire hunter trailer out of my head.

I was given 2 choices:

1. Watch either this movie or Brokeback Mountain with the missus. Two I have been evading.
or
2. Watch any movie that she isn't thrilled about alone from now on.

...so I watched it, and it wasn't too terrible. It does seem totally random, but then I remember this article making fun of how TV shows and movies are named, and when I saw "Civil War Vagina Whisperer" it all made sense. They just took two culturally-popular topics and daisy-chained them together.

The only 8 types of TV shows that get made

In return, she watched Safety Not Guaranteed, which has that hot chick from the WoW TV commercial.

Man, I just still can't do it. Even though my bar is low for action flicks, this one just looks too god awful and I kind of hate the entire premise of his books or the genre of taking historical figures or famous literature and adding supernatural creatures to it (Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter, Pride Prejudice and Zombies, etc).

You aren't missing anything Harlowe, I watched it out of sheer boredom & it was just shitastic through the entire thing. Watch your hair grow, it will be more entertaining.
