Norway doesn't look at it as punishment at all. The point of their prisons is reformation. Probably why their recidivism rates are so low.

There's absolutely no reason he should've gained 200lbs while in jail unless he was trying to stave off execution. If that's the case, make him suffer the consequences.

I actually agree with Fallakin to a point. How he got so fat on death row is a valid question, and while I oppose the death penalty, I don't believe obesity should be an excuse out of it. Apply it equally, or don't apply it at all.

I'm not down with the death penalty anyway, but I think our methods are just fucking dumb. If the idea is to make them suffer painfully, there are cheaper/better ways (starvation). If the idea is to just make them not alive, there are cheaper/faster/more reliable ways (guillotine). Electrocution is fucking stupid.

But yes, the fact that ANYONE can become or stay obese in prison is fucking atrocious.
