Newegg scores one for the good guys
Newegg takes on a patent troll, and kills it. Fucking finally a company has balls enough to do this. Great read.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Shit should be super criminal. Seriously, those types of people are just fucking stains on humanity.

Saw that. As if I needed any more reasons to love NewEgg. I might've mentioned here before that my sister had a problem with NewEgg where she actually got an attorney involved, which at that point the CEO of NewEgg got involved personally, called my sister and apologized to her on the phone and made the problem go away. That's unheard of in my experience.
I've done oodles of business over the years with them, and they never fail to impress me. I've purchased literally thousands of components through them, and if I were a chick, I'd want to have their baby.
So, yeah, not too surprising to hear about NewEgg doing the right thing regardless of cost.

I loved NewEgg when I was in the US. Always good service and always exactly what was described.
If they shipped to Oz, I'd still use them.

I thought they had it in a bunch of countries. I know they have Newegg.ca.

I've been a big fan of theirs for over a decade. They were always my go-to people because even though the policy didn't state it, when I had anything defective they would ship me out the new part before I had even returned the old one. I have been pretty cautious since they expanded and are trying to become an Amazon.com clone but thus far I have had no complaints.

Nobody ships to Australia. Freight is ridiculous over here. Small population, large distances.Freecare Spiritwise wrote:I thought they had it in a bunch of countries. I know they have Newegg.ca.
Best we have is http://www.umart.com.au, but you have to drive there and pick it up yourself.
Edit: Or if you don't care about returns, use eBay to get it direct from Hong Kong.

Get a real country! Just kidding, but seriously, build a big bridge or something.

Trebuchets. Nothing that can't be fixed with a big enough trebuchet.

Re: Newegg scores one for the good guys
I was thinking of a more modern way of you guys getting computer parts, but OK, if that seems to be where Australia is at technologically, then maybe they can start launching you that shit across the ocean on a hydraulic Trebuchet or something. I guess if you got it into Low Earth Orbit, then it might work. Extra points for landing your order within a Kilometer of the delivery address.
...or someone could build a fucking warehouse full of computer parts on your mostly desolated island and start selling said parts to the local populace...
