I go after work with a co-worker. There is apparently a station on one of the off shoots of the path we run. We've been mainly using park benches and trees, but I'm gonna make it a mission to find this now.
Currently in the middle of a 6 Week Challenge on their forums, and taking part in their "Real Life Roleplaying". Basically you lay out stats for yourself, and level up through these challenges. Pretty awesome for Nerds like us.
Fall, how is the running going? Speaking of running, the Oatmeal did a spot on piece on why he runs. I love it!! It really captures the mental heart of it. It's fabulous and funny.
I'm 25 lbs. down with some good body comp. changes. I can't attribute all of that to NerdFitness -- but I do know I wish I had found it earlier in my fitness journey.

I've done 8 marathons and have only seen one person with poopy pants. It was 85 degrees, and we were at mile 20. It had already dried on her legs.
I thought she was kind of a bad ass for not quitting.
I've only gotten sick like that once, I was just lucky enough that it happened 30 yards before a porta potty so I was able to make it. They only have them every couple miles, so if your stomach gets upset, you hope to have a little bit of luck.

I just love how he dives into the whole mental thing...it's like people, we KNOW there are better ways to exercise, but they don't give you the crazy mental reward running does.
Oh Fall - thanks for bringing up Nerdfitness, it's awesome! I can't believe I forgot about that site, looks like I've had an account on their forum since 2011.

I'm in love with that site. Can't wait til the next 6 week challenge... Not sure if I'll stick in Adventurers or branch out yet, though.
I've been running and doing Body Weight workouts and Intervals (alternating days on those two). It's awesome and it seems to work for me (though I think I need to increase the weight I do my rows with).
Yeah. It was a great time and I'll certainly be doing this one again next year. I'm also looking forward to the big one around here next year as well (The Flying Pig marathon)... Who knows, maybe I'll find a couple others or a Tough Mudder to do too..
I never really understood why companies didn't take a more direct approach to keeping their employees healthy. The amount of money they would save in health care costs & the amount of increased productivity is crazy. Especially when it's so insanely simple to do. Anywho, Just an example of Google rockin it.
It's awesome to see companies actually recognize this and take some constructive action. Our company posts healthy eating articles from the internet on the door (whoopdy-doo). Though I do have healthcare that reimburses you $20 a month for a club membership if you go 3 x's a week. It's an awesome thing if you choose one of the good local community centers - they are around $35 month. So for $16 a month you get a membership and some motivation to go. Not like $20 is much, but anything is incentive. I use it in the Winter. Summers are for OUTSIDE!
