I loved the first episode - though I do not love the new Daario. At. All. Not that the guy from last season was awesome, but he fit the book's description far better. This new guy looks more like a Westeros minstrel, not someone exotic, muscled Rico Suave.

The computer generated effects on this show are dazzling! I never read the books so I always assumed Daenerys maintains control over the dragons. I am guessing now that they break free and run amok at some point.

I never liked Daario--not as a character in the books. Not the first, Fabio-pouty face dude from last season. And this guy is just a whole lot of "ugh" topped by "bleh." And they can't even dye his beard blue. WTF?

The Viper is kind of smarmy, but hot, too. I'm conflicted. His wife looks like the same actress who was Vorenus' wife in Rome, but maybe not. (Actually, it is--I just IMDB'ed it.)

Anywway, I want to bitch about Daario some more. Just in general. What Dany sees in him I have no idea. Throughout the books, or in the series. He's just a douchebag.

They're moving fast on his storyline. They'll be moving right into Dance with Dragons (book 5) territory for him next season. Lots there, though, so I wonder if they'll move equally fast with Dany.
