It wasnt so much he was the scourge of the boards, it was that we had a moderately oppressive regime led by a crazed cookie monster and his girlfriends. With "The Man" to fight against an otherwise boring and un-inspired troll gained a following. Its like barkona, its not that he was a legendary trainer, its that people remembered him.

You are becoming less and less coherent Valoria with every post. Try taking a breath and thinking before you post if your mark and your audience get the joke then it makes it cut, otherwise you just set yourself up for responses like this one and heckeling from the resident chimp crowd.

Eh.
Valoria, scourge of the rants board? Who told you that?
You're not giving proper credit to the many, many trolls and clever posters of days gone by. Anybody can be a seething retard. There used to be some truly great trolls, that were clever, subtle and often times it wasn't until days after a thread that most people realized they were being trolled. I miss those days. A pity they ended right around the time Luclin came out. This board hasn't been the same since. And, even with the board no longer at its 'peak' (which was early Kunark-Mid Velious era in my mind) Valoria was never among the top 20 trolls to drift in during the comparably horrible times.

On what page does this piece earn its hall of flame status? Up to page 4, I see just a bunch of one sided bitching; with the other side laughing it off. Does Beek actually ever take the bait or is it 43 pages of one person bitching and the other person laughing.Ariannda Kusanagi wrote:i was JUST reading Croinc's Shosh thread today

I've read bits of that thread. I didn't bother remembering any of it... and no, I never got anywhere near page 43.
Valoria was the only one I'd heard things about, perhaps because he is well remembered... Tho, I haven't heard of anyone else.
I've played EQ since 2000 and knew of Rants, but I never paid attention to it until now, so I did miss out on a lot of the "history."

With just a couple of spectacular exceptions, the best of Rants predates this incarnation of the board. Back in the Dead Horse Society days things were really hopping.
