Almost done with AFFC. Dunno, but I'm enjoying it. Oddly, it seems he's compensating for not doing quite so much character development in the first 3? I can see the Iron Isles stuff becoming pretty important in the endgame.

Next book is going to be amazing though, with Tyrion, Jon and Dany.

I totally just realized we only have 2 more episodes left of the show. That's disappointing. But at least the show will carry us right up to Dance, pretty much. I still haven't seen last night's episode, but I'm looking forward to it. This is about the time that the shit should be hitting the fan. Very likely the climax of the season, I'd guess.

I agree with Dd, I feel like the Iron Isles stuff is gonna be pretty major. Especially with the way they get bolder as AFFC develops. Plus, I fuckin' love Asha, so... I'm always backing the Iron Born.

Yeah, Asha was cool. And I did like how they "initiated" the priests (water ritual). That was really eff'ed up, but way cool.

I plan on rereading Feast here soon, just to gain my bearings again for Dance. I hope Dany is prepared to kick some serious ass. No more wandering around aimlessly.

I finally caught up with parts 6,7 and 8 !!!

They're mostly sticking to the books and all the good stuff is making it in.

Gotta say that 9 was brilliantly done. I particularly liked the game of "truth or dare", and Shea's answers.

I had heard about the game, but that's the first time I went to check it out. It looks cool!

And yes, 9 was wonderful, yet excruciating.

My only complaint about 9 was that they completely eliminated Tyrion's part in the battle. That was kinda disappointing. He deserved a better showing than that.

Yeah, they didn't show much of any battles, except for the beginnings and endings. Kind of disappointing, but they did the same thing for Rome, too. Maybe not enough in the budget. At least we know we'll get the Blackwater battle next season. GRRM is writing it himself.

But, yeah, it looked like Tyrion was knocked out and didn't get into the battle at all. Yet Bronn told him he was a terrible fighter. So, they kinda dropped the ball there. A few days left, then we're done. (sniff)

The battles being omitted was absolutely a budget thing. Had they put them in, they would have had to cut a bunch more so they wrote Tyrion out of it.

As long as I get to see the red witch give birth to a shadow assassin, I'll be happy.

Yeah only one more part of season one but there's some good fantasy on the horizon like A Dance With Dragons and Harry Potter, not to mention other good stuff like Breaking Bad !

Ok, so (minor spoilers if you haven't seen ep9):

Did Mirri Maz Duur poison Drogo instead of healing him, or was Drogo just plain unhealable?

Yeah, they didn't explain that well enough in the HBO version for my taste. Mirri actually came across as super sympathetic. I remember feeling absolutely betrayed in the books.

So after watching all the episodes, I must buy and read these books.
Warlord Fallakin Kuvari - 85 Wood Elf Warrior, Brell Serilis forever.
Grandmaster Nikallaf Kuvari - 70 Iksar Monk.

Like! (to Fallakai's comment)

Cannot wait to see dragons in season 2. I thought the CGI was pretty darn good!

I did too, but watching the series made me think that she never even tried to heal him from the start. I had the impression (from Dany's viewpoint) that she was actually trying to heal him but it didn't work, but now I'm questioning that.
