I agree with everything Ddrak and Kulaf said. The feeling of vastness and danger are back but a lot of the silly time wasting (like non-specific quest instructions combined with broken quests) that plagued early EQ have been eliminated. I doubt they can capture the feeling I had for EQ in the pre-PoP era but they have done a fine job trying.

Character is Akhbar Ali on the Sidreth (sp?) server if anyone is looking.

If you live up north in RL then start your character on the Qualia (sp?) continent. It is cool coming in from 0 degree weather outside and "roaming around the desert" in my 80ish degree computer room.

I ended up buying and trying VG, and I gotta say that it's without a doubt the closest thing to eq's original overall magical feeling.

I've just been soloing and diplomating around the Tursh area....I'm a Thestran Human Dreadknight named Pride for anyone on the Shidreth server (sp?).

I'll check for ya next time I'm on Akh
