And look what it does to people. Look at all the grown ups sitting around chatting about boring stuff. There's music playing but they don't want to dance. There's video games and board games but they don't want to play. They just sit there talking about back pain, complaining about the price of gas, and comparing how much their babies poop.
Most adults are consumed by this fabrication we call "the real world" where the things we enjoy up until the age of 18 aren't serious or worthwhile enough. People replace themselves with jaded and repressed copys... and it makes me LOL. There's alot of people who have an idea that once they grow up and get a job, they become the sock-holder/fedora wearing guy who pops through the doorway exclaiming "Honey, I'm home!" (who then sits and reads the paper while sipping coffee).

I'm 24, and my goal is to be AS immature at 44 :)

so enjoy your youth and freedom as much as you can for as long as you can. Sooner than you think you will be crushed under a pile of responsibilities so big you will hardly have the free time to worry about how many responsibilities you have.
That's depressing. I'm glad I don't actually feel that way as an adult. =)

I keep picturing Klast cornering that poor 14 year old at the reunion and laying all that on her.

Don't shower with a cat,
No matter what you do, you will eventually die, so enjoy what you do,
Never turn down free pizza or free sex,
God gave you two ears and one mouth, use them in that porportion,
Say please and thank you,
Your single goal in your existance should be to live your life with no regrets.

And call your grandma more, she appreciates it.

But you can't cease being a drama whore or cunt. Hopefully, that will come with time and experience. If not, you get what's coming to you.

comparing how much their babies poop
You probably have to be a parent to understand how interesting this can be. Seriously.

27. I've learned to not apologize for passion and that I don't know much of anything. Well, not anything, but I am often overwhelmed at the body of work I have yet to master.

Or how important it can be. Rachael discovered how exciting it can be that her baby is pooping and having gas lol. It becomes less interesting around the age of 8 months....

Barious, i have discovered i become more and more patient the older i get. I'm not always a perfect women, or parent or mother or friend, but i try. The kids know just how to push my buttons, various other people know just how to push my buttons, but i have let a whole lot more slide the older i have gotten. I'm thankful for it all the time.

I'm close to that. It's pretty sad when you watch people who used to be willing to expand their experiences decide to lock down and never move off what they must consider 'themselves'. I've got an older brother who used to be as willing (in one example) to listen to as much different types of music as me. I've watched him morph into a guy who's unwilling to listen to almost anything new that's not country, even bands he still enjoys he won't pick up the new albums. If it doesn't hook him in 5 seconds or less, he'll never bother with it, and next to nothing hooks him anymore. I see that a ton of times with everyone nowadays. I'm glad I'm not that way.

Wasn't there research done somewhere that showed your musical tastes tend to fix themselves by your mid-20's?

Dunno; it hasn't proven to be the case for me yet, and I'm nearing double that. Considering I was raised on a strict diet of 1950-1975ish country and what bits of FM radio my parents would let me listen to, it's amazing what I've been exposed to and listen to regularly. The only thing that I can point to is that some bits of music come and go in cycles - some weeks I want to listen to metal, some weeks to indie, some weeks 70's rock. I can honestly say, however, that I'm the only guy I know of who keeps a range that covers Count Basie, Bill Chase, Slayer, Jason and the Scorchers, and Paramore on my iPod.

Dunno Klast, one thing I can say about my job is that its challenging and never the same. If you choose to work in an office its your choice, but there are always other options.

That came off harsher that it should have. There is some truth in that. But it is exaggerated badly. I don't remember the specific words I said to my niece so I just improvised in the retelling. Also. I think I was having a pretty shitty day when I wrote that. Office politics dramas are pretty rare in my office. But one came up and I was feeling pretty bitter and unhappy about it. That post reflected my mood at the time.

Realistically I like my job. A huge part of my duties involves figuring stuff out and solving problems. different stuff all the time. That gets me off. I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when I figure something out and fix it. My co workers are fun people. Our productivity is measured by how well we satisfy the customer, rather than by how many customers we can handle an hour. So I can take as much time as I need with each customer to make sure they are happy and it get's fixed right the first time. All good things.

That is great advice. I found myself in dead-end jobs that I hated. There's nothing worse than getting up early to be miserable all day. Work won't always be fun, but if you don't enjoy what you do for a living at least a little bit, your whole life can be miserable.

I've found the same. Last night was a great example of me not being patient when trying to get my 2.5 year old son to bed. I got fed up and yelled at him, when I should've been more patient. Learning to be patient in all things is likely to be a life-long process.
