I don't deny that there is a segment of the Republican party that would love for it to happen and are probably trying to pass it in the states they represent.

However I also recognize the reality that it will never pass as a Constitutional amendment and is therefore as meaninless in a party platform as a goal as eliminating nuclear weapons world-wide is even when there are arms reduction treaties passed every few years.
