What's fucked up...

I'm taking Japanese (and doing quite well) and there is this kid in the class. First of all, I'm 28 years old. My advisor said people going back to college have an easier time of it than first time students and I believe her. I walked into class with two pencils, a note book and all of my text books..... half of the kids didn't even have pencils. They had their cell phones and wallets and that's it.

My Japanese class is for people who have NEVER been exposed to Japanese before. teaches the writing and pronunciation. We have a dipshit of a kid in there that's had THREE FUCKING YEARS of Japanese. He won't let any of the rest of us answer any questions and is always yelling out the answers.

A couple of us talked to the teacher about it, but he's still there. Apparently JPN 214 conflicts with another class and he doesn't want to change. Because he's "disabled" some how, they aren't making him leave the class, even though it's hurting the rest of us.

Sucked to give up the scholarship, but paying a little more then to get paid tons more when I get a real job was well worth it hehe.

So.. how is the job with Dell Customer Support treating you?

I don't know if ADD ADHD is even a disability... I had/have (who knows I seem normal in most people’s eyes) AD/HD and I know I type like shit, and I also don't care... But I don’t use ADD or ADHD pick your flav as the excuse, I blame it on lack of interest and lack of practice (neither I really care to Remedy). No one or nothing to blame but myself..

I totally agree, how ever not just ADD ADHD that do that (and a very different debate). But to write it off as I'm ADHD is a cop out and a total lack of effort and control.

Only thing I would like to point out is sometimes people mess up words like for example "there, their, they're" if your not smart enough to figure out what was intended who are you really to talk?

Some people are bad with words, numbers, computer, cars, and you name it... I will agree writing is rooted deeply into every thing but is not everything.. But this day in age cars and computers are becoming as big of a must as basic reading and writing, should we be little people bad with them as much too?

Anyways back to what I meant to say before the god damn phone chimes in with one of the non computer user that can not remember there god damn user name or password that they had been using the last 6 months and was logged on yesterday with! I wonder if these people ever loose there house? Also love the people that want me to fix an issue that had last week but was able to do fine yesterday if I could fucking time travel think I would be talking to you? The issue is clearly resolved bye *click* But I think that is entirely in the realm of common cense.

I think kids/people with ADD/ADHD learn things really fast (if they like it or understand a reason for it) I struggled in English I thought it was dumb and eventually the schools stopped trying to force it.. But I loved math, geography(holly shit word said I spelt it right) and history and would often slept or generally fucked off during study time and still passed with ease.. Just my sill advice for any parents in here with ADD ADHD kids (my opinion I could very well be wrong) is to find a way to focus there attn on important things like school. What worked well with me was competition but being pushed by anyone other then me had an adverse reaction.

Preface: my son lives with his mom.
My son was diagnosed with ADHD and they gave him meds to take, he just started acting like he could care less what happened... very apathetic and no thirst for anything (he was 5 at the time so this was ludacris to me) I know how his mom is, and I think her taking him to some local psych and getting him diagnosed with ADHD was a copout to her lack of stern discipline. I have come to realize that to be true, since he was recently taken off his meds on the weekends (when I see him). So basically he's hyper as crap, but he's acting like a kid, and he does fine so long as we give him discipline where it is due (not talking about hitting him at all).

The whole point of this thing is, that I don't think this is an isolated case... I think lots of people use ADHD as a copout for raising their kids, and then pass that copout attitude along to the children.
