I don't see it that way.. a tit for tat. I evaluate physical attacks from the perspective of "do as little harm as possible to stop the attack". If a female tried to slap me, I would block the slap. If I wasn't fast enough to block the slap, and she got lucky and connected, in all reality the slap won't do much damage to me. And she wouldn't get another chance to slap since I'd either be able to block what she threw or get out of her range.
Punching in her in the mouth or slapping her back is overkill, in my opinion, since I would have to do neither to stop the attack or defend myself. But that's just me... I know how much pounding I can take before I receive serious damage. I don't view many women (or men for that matter) as a serious physical threat to me, absent any weapon.

I didn't really punch her (That time). I don't think she actually even slapped me for that particular comment, she just yelled at me. =p
There have been times that, for whatever reason, she's slapped or punched me. She does it to everyone. She eventually stopped doing it to me because she learned very quickly that I hit back. Just because she's not a realistic threat (Which she isn't) doesn't mean I should put up with it. She still slaps and punches just about everyone else (And usually for unjustifiable reasons, such as taking a joke too personally or not agreeing with her), I just Pavlov'ed her into not doing it to me.
As far as I'm concerned, anyone who decides they can dish it out better be ready to take it just the same. "Going easy" on her would be, well, sexist. Being a femenist, I'm sure she appreciates my treating her with equality.

What about just not spending time around her? If she shows some disposition to violence, and you know about it, and disagree with it, then why even bother to be around her?
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Because she lives with my best friend, maybe? What about just not spending time around her? If she shows some disposition to violence, and you know about it, and disagree with it, then why even bother to be around her?
