Okay, Relbeek, apparently you didn't understand me.

It's simply that I don't consider reinstating Jecks to be a particularly good April Fools prank. While I find his posts refreshing compared to the boring bullshit like the "ZOMG WMD'S" threads we seem to get every week around here, watching you abuse your administrative privileges to indulge petty power fantasies isn't funny, just embarrassing.

In short, I'm happy Jecks is back, even if only temporarily, and nauseated by the reason you decided to bring him back.

You yourself will admit that it is possible to do the right thing (war in Iraq, reinstating Jecks) for the wrong reasons (WMD intelligence, childish ego trips).

I could go on about why I find your motives tasteless here, but instead I have a question:

When you were in the admin window clicking the button back and forth, banned...not banned...banned...not banned..., what did it sound like in the room? Was there a squelching noise, techno music, and a refrain of "Ooh, baby, TAKE those Halfling Parts, yeah!" or was there just a high-pitched cackle like The Joker on blotter acid?

I dont understand the position Beek holds, the responsibllitites. But he does a lot of work on the board, lots of effort. I expect he much deserves a few perks cause I am sure the pay aint worth it.

Anyway, as you can see, Eidolon, I did it because Jecks asked for the privilege and I thought it would be funny. I also thought it might lend credibility to the prank.

I did not, however, think that it would lead a whiny self-loathing little fraction of a man to scream "Power trip!" at me. That was just frosting.

The mods threw the hammer down in the wake of the whole Valoria thing when he was posting lots of my RL info.

When Jecks learned I'd started getting harassing phone calls at my home, he was, to his credit, very contrite, which is why we're stll friends.

If that lends you any insight as to how humorless I was over the whole incident.

I generally get about two or so stupid calls a year over Brell Rants. The guy who threatened to sue me over someone talking trash on Breezey was an extra two or so cals. I fielded a half dozen or so over that shit.

Hooked me, where you guys drunk? If you mean the retirement thread, yep the first day I was, but the board hacking? Oh no way. Burz was way, way too civilized and half-hearted in the whole take-over.

And yes, it was Beeker's outburst that sealed the deal. I thought from the start Burz and Beeker were in on it, but it wasn't until the tantrum that I knew and thought Jecks was in on it too.
