Agreed. But from a business perspective, they had to. It cost way too much to make. It was great, but a serious undertaking. If they cut the budget, the quality of the show would plummet, too.

I'm torn on how they ended it, though. I have to admit, I liked the closing words; "About that father thing..." but the rest of the story didn't end so great.

Yeah, they didn't even finish the full 12 episodes for the final season. HBO is really on my shit list now. Nothing left that I watch anymore since they fracked with Deadwood, Carnivale and now Rome.

They can sit and spin for all I care...

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Season 2 was never supposed to be 12 episodes, Allu. They had always said it would be 10 and the show ended with it.

That sucks about the series. They just want something cheap and dependable like The Sopranos. All the good shows (which are period pieces so higher production costs) get yanked too quickly. Then we have seasons and seasons of lame, vapid shows like fucking Entourage. God that show is aimed at dullwits.

Well, I still have House! But ....blah, commercials.

Oh, if you think the Tudors is going to be any good (and why would you after seeing the previews with the damn gay-ass Evanscense song) the On Demand feature let me watch the first two episodes of it and though the supporting cast actors are impressive, it's dull as hell. The only good part is Buckingham getting his head chopped off.

House is awesome! I just started watching that this season. I have the first two seasons in my queue on Netflix.

As for the Tudors, I was wondering about that. Sucks if it's dull. Not that I would get Showtime, but hmmm. Only 8 more weeks of House, though, then we hit a summer dry spell.

(sigh)

So it lasted, what, 24 episodes? That's actually pretty good. The number of cable shows (not to mention freeTV) that last two full seasons is really pretty small, and the premise of this show made it seem to me more like it was gonna be a 2, 3 season thing.

So I finally started watching this a couple weeks ago...

Fuck if I didn't fall in love with it almost instantly.

I just wish they put it up on On Demand.

It was on Demand for quite awhile after the show ended. I thought it was back again...I guess not.
