This doesn't have anything to do with Minute, but most bisexuals I've met in my life are attention whores with that same "I don't give a fukkkk" attitude. Probably some of the funnest people to hang out with, really.

On the original subject - Sexuality in a human is a complex and non-static situation. There are multiple, if not scores of genetic factors, plus an undtold horde of cultural and social factors, and the plain old 'what's available to me without committing rape' issue. There are reasons that the Kinsey Reports hit like a meteor and are still being contested by conservative organizations today.

Also, m4anything on Craigslist is fucking hilarious.

All of the science I've encountered dealing with human sexuality has different tilts depending on whether its from the perspective of a Biologist, Psychologist, or Sociologist, or any other number of ologists that throw their two cents in.

CAN it have a lot to do with hormones? Sure. CAN it be related to life histories? Absolutely. I think the most ignorant thing to say about homosexuality is that it has one definitive proximate cause. Hormone levels may cause it in some situations - I'd love to look up what the incidence of homosexuality is among individuals with Klinefelter or Turner syndrome is... or whatever the YY situation is, I can't remember its name.

In my personal experience the people that feel like telling you they're gay within 3 minutes of meeting you are the people that tend to have complicated life histories. These people also tend to be so goddamn full of drama it's tiresome being around them for too long. Much more numerous (I suspect) and less visible are the gays that broadcast their sexuality as often as heterosexuals do. I like these ones better. They tend to be emotionally stable. I wonder if that's where the term "drama queen" came from? Would certainly fit.
Basically, they told us that being from another generation was the biggest reason they "blended in" as well as they did. I've seen the exact same phenomenon with older gay men that have taught themselves over the course of their lives to tone it down. I would even say that my conservative upbringing may be part of why most heteros don't have the slightest clue that I'm gay for a while (Either they eventually figure it out, because most people aren't stupid, or I wind up telling them outright).
I wonder how many younger gay people tend to be more butch or flamey simply because thats what they identify themselves as? Its a rare person that doesn't define how they act and dress, even on a subconscious level, by what they perceive to be the standard for their identity. Doesn't help that the flamers tend to stick out like a sore thumb, either.

You don't have to know the person, you don't have to like them, you don't have to think through your decision to get married or anything - you can just do it! Because you can! Come on, it's cool to get married, and think of the pictures you'll have to show people of this person that they will definitely think is so wrong for you and probably is! But heavens to BETSY, do NOT marry someone of the same gender because that would be a mockery of the institution of marriage.

And if it doesn't work out, just get divorced. Half the cool people who get married do that anyway.

I will write you up a fancy, wonderful, articulate proclamation handing over my right to get married. I have no official documentation because this is something I was born with since I was born heterosexual. Unfortunately, this is only a symbolic gesture. However, since I'm picky and difficult, it's probably something that, if a physical object, would have been considered pristine and shiny after some dusting. Your bid, on the other hand, is real, and the donation you make to an organization that supports those who have been treated as second-class citizens will be well worth it.

I have not named an organization yet because I thought I would see if anyone wanted to join me on this journey rather than drag them into something they're not serious about, ready for, etc.

I used to work in a large file room / mail room with this total flamer. The guy was totally funny and we all had so much fun that the boring days just flew by. But we got this one guy as a new temp (we were all temps) that was very religious and the days turned into a total drag because all day every day we'd hear about how this gay guy was going to hell, affront to Jesus, so on and so forth.

So this religious zealot guy was let go (we all complained) and he kept writing the gay guy these creepy tl;dr letters. I mean clearly the guy was spending hours and hours writing these preachy letters and so forth. A year later and my friend was still getting these letters. So one day we're all talking about it and someone says "I have it figured out: the creepy guy is really a closet fag and it conflicts with his religion so much that it's causing him all this inner turmoil."

So that's what that video reminded me of, Tax. If a "straight" guy is totally obsessed with a gay guy, I don't care what he says his motives are, he's gay, period. And look at all those priests that preach against homosexuality by day and molest the choir boys by night; same fuckin' thing.

I've said this for decades: Any time someone drones on and on about some particular virtue, expect that person to be found lacking in that virtue.

QFT! Which kinda creeped me out lately...

Have you ever seen "little children" ... ? Some guy that just applied at my work turned out to be a child molester. We all thought thought that he was a stand-up guy in the group interview. I even asked him "why have you been out of work since February?" and he gave us some BS answer. Turns out that he tried to cheat on his wife (after 3 children) with some 14 year old girl.

The weirdest part of it all though was my boss freaking out about it. I mean molesting children isn't cool and all, but she really, really freaked out about it. To the point where everyone was like "uh..." - I dunno....

With my degree from the institute of armchair psychology, I'd say your boss (or someone close to her) was more likely the molestee rather than the molestor.

Certainly without some close connection to a topic, you just won't have any (major) stake in the outcome of conversations about it. Put another way, I think without some personal stake in a topic, you'll tend to have a more reasoned opinion on the subject. For example, somebody who flips out about gays was either butt-raped or wishes they were and has some hang up about it lol.

The guy in that video: Maybe he really looked up to his father, or some father figure, who had an extreme position against homosexuality. But yet he felt romantic feelings towards other men and saw it as impossible to reconcile those two positions, so he flips out about it. I wouldn't think that any well adjusted person would lose any sleep over who anyone else is sleeping with.
