Re: League of Legends?
Thread necro and didn't read the whole thing...whatever...personally I think LoL sucks. Heroes of Newerth just went free to play and takes a lot more skill (it's also the closest thing to the classic version of DotA).
I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass.

Ahh okay computer fixed and have internet again. Been playing this quite a bit lately, I unlocked Fiddlesticks and am in love! That life steal thing is pretty OP, haven't really ran into any other champs that I have a hard time killing except mother fucking Gangplank.

Re: League of Legends?
Beware Amumu, Tax. His ultimate is a stun/damage AE. If he is built even remotely well (Sunfire Cape, Merc Treads, Banshee's Veil, Warmog's Armor, Thornmail, Abyssal scepter for example) he will completely and utterly destroy Fiddlesticks.
The problem with Fiddle is that with ranked games, everyone jacks up Magic Resist if they see him on the other team. And then fiddle is a push over. Luckily, 90% of the people playing normal are god awful morons and they won't bother. Haha.

Argh yeah I seem to have trouble vs some of the melee "tank" classes. They have too much resist/health and do too much damage where I can't sit there and life steal them to death.

Re: League of Legends?
Yeah, that's gonna happen, Tax. You really shine against the melee DPS/Casters. Luckily, in normal games, nobody is intelligent enough to use Magic Resist. You'll get maybe 1 person on the enemy team that will wise up and take a build that will ruin your day, but no more than 1 usually. The tards that play this game always get hell bent on DPS, which is retarded. I can't count how many times I've been playing against 4 AP ranged characters and 1 CC Tank and I'll be th only one on my team with Merc Treads (-35% on all crowd control spells is huge!) and a positive score. People don't realize the crappy berzerker's greaves are useless when 4 nukers rape them before they ever get close enough to actually hit back. It gets frustrating. Haha.

Okay, getting a tad better at this game. Like Fiddlesticks still. Finally got the hang of Amumu, that bandage toss is big dmg! Kog'ma is cool too, very good at ganking with that -armor/-magic resist debuff he has.
I want to learn Ezreal next, as I get owned by him quite consistently.

Re: League of Legends?
I tried to get into Ezreal for a bit, but found him hard to manage. You have to play very conservatively, since he is so soft. Also, balancing his AD/AP is a bit of a pain. Lots of people go pure AD, which I always found weird. I prefer Lux for that role. She has a little more survivability if you take flash (and everyone always takes flash) and use her spell shields effectively. Not to mention, her ult is such a low recast (with runes, anyway) and does such insane damage, it's almost game altering. I've killed guys at their fountain with it, which just shouldn't happen. Thought it is amusing to see someone just as they recall and blast them from across the map for 1500 damage when they think they're safe at base.

Finally hit level 30 and discovered the best part of this game, by far; The Tribunal. So many fuckin' tools play, it feels good to be able to play a role in banning them.

Re: League of Legends?
Have you guys seen any guides on how to level your summoner level as you play a character? Like, I love playing Ren but my summoner level is still only like level 6, so I'm getting buttfucked by people playing Warwick who are the same level as my Renekton in game. I'm pretty sure that a level 3 Warwick shouldn't be able to kill a level 8 Ren solo, let alone me not even be able to kill him half way. :/

Re: League of Legends?
Honestly, summoner level doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Buying runes before 10 is something I wouldn't even bother with (I didn't know better back then, so I did). Warwick can be a total pain in the ass at any level, too.
It's hard to say, without having seen your build, etc. but I would suggest taking a look at this Renekton guide: http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=300
Solomid is the second top squad on the NA servers and their builds are pretty solid all around. Their site is a wealth of information, if you care to look. The only other suggestion I could offer is to check out one of the general gameplay guides on the League forums. One of them can be found here: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/sho ... hp?t=14432
Hopefully this helps. If there's anything more, feel free to ask. I'm always trying to promote this game, despite the shitty community, its really fun.

Re: League of Legends?
That's very possible, cause I barely get a chance to play it. But, dude, that guy was killing me AND my buddy who's really good with Trystana (the girl with the bazooka, dunno how to spell her name) at the same time, and we collectively couldn't knock him down to half health, meanwhile after respawning the two of us went and killed the rest of his team (whom were all equal to our player levels).Taxious wrote:Yeahhhhh you just suck. lolxilly wrote:I'm pretty sure that a level 3 Warwick shouldn't be able to kill a level 8 Ren solo
Interestingly enough, the build I've been reading for Ren, I checked it today and it's been completely re-written since the last time I looked at it a few weeks ago, going almost opposite the way I had been playing him. This game must change with balancing frequently. :p

Re: League of Legends?
Nice one, Xil. The learning curve on this game is pretty steep. Hell, I'm still learning at max level. I played my first ranked game (you'd think after 180+ wins I'd be ready) and I got owned. There's always more to learn with so many champs and so many potential matchups. I think that's what I like about it. There isn't a single game I finish where I don't pick out at least a couple things I could've done better.
Do you play the 5v5 at all, Xil? I know Tax was really into the 3v3 for a while, too.

Re: League of Legends?
I do sometimes, but I normally stick to 3vs3 only because the matches don't last as long and it's hard to give a full hour per game when your playtime is limited. I played a really good 5vs5 earlier and we won. I think I closed out with a high number of deaths, but still had a positive k2d ratio. Something like 12 and 9 with 6 assists. Nothing sucks more than playing a fighter vs a tank who snuggles a turret because they know they can't stand up to you.Xican wrote:Nice one, Xil. The learning curve on this game is pretty steep. Re: League of Legends?
I was mainly doing 3v3 because it was faster and less chaotic. I'm starting to realize 5v5 is where it's at though!

Re: League of Legends?
That's the biggest issue I have with this game, Xil. At higher levels (and especially in ranked) everything is so god damn defensive. If you watch the High Elo streams, a lot of the time games have less than 40 total kills, despite lasting the better part of an hour. The Gold/Defense meta is just too overwhelming right now. It's effective, but makes for a dull game, I find.

Re: League of Legends?
That's probably why Dominion focuses on PVP and from what I've heard about it you level up really quickly as it's all a mad dash to the middle to get buffs and what not. Much less farming and much more ass rape. Renekton will shine there, as he's a character that takes a while to farm up some xp and gold before he goes from decent to superbeast.Xican wrote:That's the biggest issue I have with this game, Xil.
