Downloading movies from youtube

Post by Taxious »

This is why I love firefox.

Just rename the file to whateverthefuck.flv
Then use your favorite video converter to turn that into whatever format you want. I've been using Total Video Converter and have never had any problems.

Or you could just use http://keepvid.com/ if you're using IE. /shrug.

Your technical arguments astound me!

/yawn.

80% or more of people on this site use IE - figured I'd help them out too.

80% or more of people on don't realize there is a better choice. Figured I'd further support the ignorance.

It's also obviously a stupid argument. We've discussed Firefox many times. People see references to it all over the web. Claiming they don't know about it is entirely stupid.

The biggest problem with Firefox is no automatic download of plugins/extensions without at a very minimum restarting the browser. At least IE can download controls and run them without making you lose all your tabs.

Firefox is cool and all, but it's honestly not significantly better (or worse) than IE.

I'm not interested in getting involved with the argument. I'm just providing a little tidbit of information. Try Session Manager if you like saving your tabs.

And ever since 2.0, firefox has been able to do this automatically.

Which is all beside the point - it shouldn't have to restart at all.

I'm sure IE has to restart if theres a security update... it just may not force you to.

Yes, it does. Just like Firefox reminded me to with its security update this week. :p

Face it - there's really not that much difference between the two any more. It's really just a matter of which plugins/extensions you prefer. The only thing tipping me towards Firefox is Google's Browser Sync.

I personally like the ForecastFox(Accuweather) extension.

That and I can't see myself ever using a MS browser ever again... you know they "invented" tabbed browsing, yes? lol
