For social stuff, I've always been a big fan of http://www.meebo.com/
The best part of meebo is that you don't have to install anything.

Well meebo is just IM.. but Digsby is IM/Social networking (my space/live journal)/email

I love the ability to delete, mark as spam, mark as read my email without having to open any browsers or clients. The social networking is useless for me but I can create a web page widget to chat live with me regardless of where I am logged in.

Yeah that sounds pretty handy, I'll have to check it out when I get home. I'm excited for OpenSocial to get off the ground.

I'm a big fan of not having to install stuff and just use whatever program you need through a browser. Speaking of, Adobe just launched an online version of photoshop which is pretty nice.

Saw that as well about the PS Express. However its for basic photo editing like red eye reduction, saturation and such.

osnap, it doesn't even have layers?? I haven't tried it out yet, but I just assumed it was a close-to-full-featured photoshop edition. Hopefully they will keep upgrading the site so that one day it is.

They might upgrade it.. but right now it is a flash application (probably forces you to upgrade to flash 9) that is pretty limited. It has interesting integration to photo libraries (flicker an exception). It is just not targeted to serious photo manipulation, but the red eye removal and such tools.

I'm a huge advocate of Meebo. They don't let us install stuff on the network, so I run Firefox Portable off my network drive and meebo for IM while I'm at work.
