Content Patch Before Wrath of the Lich King

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as they’re available.

Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.

It's the pre-patch for 3.0, not the expansion. The expansion is a much bigger patch. From getting my beta keys to getting in the game was a pretty solid 2 days of patching.

Blizzard has just updated their official site, confirming the November 13 release date and letting us know that there will be a CE (shock!), and what will be in it.

* The game on DVD-ROM [edit: the regular edition will have it on DVD as well]
* A 208-page LK art book
* Frosty, the baby frost wyrm (non-combat pet)
* A DVD with developer interviews, commentary on the cinematic, etc.
* Soundtrack CD
* Mouse pad with a map of Northrend
* Two starter decks for the CCG, and two exclusive cards

This is more or less the same pack-in list as the BC CE had. The pricing will be $70 for the CE, as opposed to $40 for the regular edition

No, what's on the PTR is 3.02 which is new talents and spells, but not the higher level cap, new continent, and other expansion content.

A lot of expansion content is in the 3.02 patch, and it'll be the last major patch before the expansion hits... Guarantee that the expansion expands it to 3.0# though, as it won't set it to 3.1.

I never said it would, I just said that the patch they are currently preloading is not for the full expansion pack.
