WHAT GAMES SHOULD I PLAY?

I've been out of a gaming-worthy machine for like 2+ years now. What are the best single/multiplayer games that aren't MMOs? So far I have Battlefield 2 installed (I know it's older, but It's one of the only games I own legitimately... *THANKS PAP-PAP*)

I'm guessing DragonAge Orgy or whatever should be on the list. I'm borrowing a copy of BioShock from Hairpull today.

Been playing Borderlands. Pretty boss. Real sweet if you got a couple of friends to level with as well.

Dd hit the nail on the head with Steam. They have a ton of games that are only $5. Mass Effect is an awesome game, and with the sequal only weeks away it might be a good idea to play the first. Also if you want to get back into MMOs, EQ2 and all current expansions is also only $5 with 30 days free. Has me tempted to go play in the EQ2 waters again.

Yup. I am cheap as fuck when it comes to buying games. Then with the sales steam has been having I was nickel and dimeing myself up to 250$ since the middle of December.

Orange Box - this would be my first purchase if I were you. Portal is awesome, so is TF2.
Mass Effect is amazing, get it!
Borderlands is good and the animation is a nice break from the ordinary look and feel of things.
Left4Dead2 is a lot harder than the first Left4Dead but still really fun. If you like zombie games get this!

Rename it Left 4 Rage. About 70% of my games get kicked back to lobby after 2 maps because the other team rages all together. The competitive game thing they put in really sucks. At least in l4d1 we could wait in the saferoom until 4 more people loaded in. And the thing that pisses me off most is half the time when you get back into the lobby you see 2-4 people had joined while it was loading you back into the lobby. Also all those games where you get kicked back to lobby show up as non-completed, and thus can read as you rage quitting yourself since they do not count as wins. Really sucks.

The full on rage even happens on 4v4 versus match ups. If you destroy the other team on the first two or 3 maps they will just all leave since they are mathematically out of it.

What exactly is Borderlands? I keep hearing my friends talk about it but have yet to actually see anything from it in the way of screenshots or hear anything about actual gameplay from anyone.
