Star Wars: The Old Republic

Looks pretty sweet to me, which is saying a bit since I really disliked Galaxies. I've been trying to persuade folks in my WoW circle to give it a shot when it comes out. I'm starting to think that 5 or so years of WoWing is probably enough for me.

I hope its decent and doesn't end up floundering like Age of Conan did.

Bioware makes awesome games. I get the feeling this will be less of an MMOG but more of a normal RPG that happens to have other people in it. May not be that way - was just an impression I get.

Hey there,

Pre-Orders are out today. Is anyone else planning on playing this? Some old guild buddies and I will be playing this and you all are welcome to join us.

Bioware could make the best story possible but just can't sink myself into the story when I see a lightsaber passing through another player, NPC or even a tree and not having parts fly off. Also some of the characters look just silly. Why does that Sith have a vacuum cleaner on his back and a 5" diameter hose going into his chest armor?
Mal: Seems we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?

Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Mal: Ain't we just.

Thinking about playing this with a group of friends IRL. We are going to wait a few months for some bug fixes and reviews though. No way in hell I'm going to get AgeOfConan'd again with a MMO release.

How is it any different than some guy passing a normal sword through someone in a fantasy game? Or swimming in plate armor? Or dozens of other things anyone can nit pick about any game.

Bane will have a guild on one of the servers. We already have 8 or so members with preorders.

Here is an E3 Developer walkthrough featuring my class of choice.....the Sith Inquisitor:
