League Of Legends - Dominion

I'm never playing normal LoL again, Dominion rocks. Much faster game play, less waiting, more pew pew. I like!

I like it, but they should restrict which characters can be selected. We played a game yesterday where someone chose Cassiopeia and she just got mauled almost the entire time, was basically a 4v5 the entire time.

Better is subjective. You can kick all sorts of ass if you know how to play certain characters, but in Dominion some characters are flat out impossible to do well with.

I'm with Xil. It seems like they really rushed out Dominion and didn't quite assess the strengths/weaknesses of some characters there. It's a completely different game, basically and it feels half done. It's part of the reason I'm focusing on normal LOL at the moment.

It's definitely helped me practice my micromanagement if nothing else. I accidentally played a normal LoL game the other day and was tearing shit up like whoa. I get what you are talking about with certain characters being rather worthless on Dominion. I see about 90% of people play AD champions because AP seems rather worthless at the pace Dominion plays at. That being said, I really love playing Amumu in Dominion - have you tried that Xican?

Melee champs are pro on Dominion. You rarely see ranged other than Ashe, or mages other than Brand/Ryze.

I've only played a few Dominion matches on my smurf account, Tax. I've been focusing on trying to get my runes finished, so that I can actually play draft mode. Haha. Right now, the only characters I have full runes for are: Ashe, Kayle, Irelia and Amumu. Though I'm basically done my Taric and Singed ones, and I actually have 2 for Amumu and Irelia each. I really wanna get Morgana's runes done, still, too. Once I have all those I'll have more free time to mess around with Dominion. But all that is still at least 10k IP away, still.

Any of you guys have any decent addons for LoL? I love the fuck out of Yaric, so I can set my items to replace the recommended items so I'm not stuck going OK WTF DO I BUY NOW?! mid match. It's awesome.

I didn't even know there were add-ons. The recommended item thing sounds nice, except my items always change, depending on my opposition's make-up. I typically have 2 rune/mastery sets and differing item sets for each character I play. What is Yaric exactly?

I didn't realize there were addons either. I'll probably be installing Yaric tonight. The default items are pretty annoying as I don't buy from there 80% of the time. Xican, it looks like you can just customize your "quick buy" bar for any champion you want.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what it is. It allows you to choose what items you want in your recommended items, so that you're not having to dig through shit mid game. I obviously change items when needed, but I have a core set that I like to run with each of my usual champions so it's nice having that core set ready to go. It supports Dominion now too, which is really nice. Plus, I like it for characters I don't play often so I don't have to go back and be like "ok what was this person good with again?" and what not.

I'm just pissed I have to keep spending time filling it out. I haven't been playing that long and I've had to go through it at least 3 times now (x2 for my tank tree).

I actually thought they improved it though.. I like how they split apart AP/AD stuff and grouped the summoner spell bonuses into one mastery skill.

I don't mind filling it out, it only takes a few mins, even with my 10 different mastery setups. I just don't really like how now you can basically pick Offense or Defense, with utility being absolutely useless. None of the top end utility mastery setups are even useful. It's pointless. I hope they buff it up.

One thing I've noticed with new masteries is that Tanky DPS are incredibly good. Since new masteries I'm like 3-1 (the one loss is a leave) in Ranked play. Irelia was always strong, but my stats in ranked on her are ridiculous. 7-1, with an average of 3 kills, 1.4 deaths and 6.6 assists per game. There's just no pushing her out of top lane, now. Unless someone specifically counter-picks her. I'm averaging 150 minion kills and 10k gold per game. It's insane.

Also of note, characters like Ashe and Vayne who are pure DPS, with full offense masteries do absolutely unreal damage. It's almost sickening.

Played a game last night, the LeBlanc on the enemy team was getting 1200+ crits. We lost with that person having 30+ kills.

Penta's on Amumu are hard to get... His ult should be utilized at the beginning of an engagement and his other skills are weak for AE effectiveness... I've seen a lot of Vayne penta kills, purely kill stealing or champs like Ryze or GP getting them lately.
