I'd like to start out by stating that I am in not a member of the ShadowRun Online development team, I will not be reaping any profit from the development and sales of the game, I'm just an excited fan. My favorite 16-bit game ever was ShadowRun on the SNES (sega was pretty close). I've been waiting for 16+ years for a continuation/sequel/whatever and like many of you was horribly disappointed by that crap microsoft dumped on us a few years ago.
For those of you who aren't familiar with ShadowRun it's everything good rolled into one. Think DeusEx meets EverQuest. It's set in ~2050 Seattle with elves, orcs, vampires, zombies, assault rifles, mages, hackers, droids, etc. You can fight gangs, governments, mega-corporations, etc. Finally some of the ShadowRun creators bought the licenses from Microsoft and are doing an indy-production.
They are in the fund-raising phase and are ~$200k short with 4 days to go to meet their goal on kickstart. For a modest "donation" you get a copy of the game, access to the closed beta, and some pretty sweet swag (what you get varies on how much you pledge).
