Re: Web Store Software
Drupal would be my vote, however we are implementing one in either Umbraco or Orchard here in a few months.

Re: Web Store Software
Another question then... Anyone any good at configuring/theming a Web Store/CMS?

So those are just packages you can plug into a wordpress or google site/blog? My sister want so eventually sell e-books on her blog and I probably will, too. Most bloggers who earn a living at it sell e-books.

@Tax:
So, given I have crazy experience in developing for .NET and limited web design experience, if someone's coming to me asking for a web site that's basically just a CMS (but may develop into eCommerce down the road), you think I'd be better with Wordpress, Drupal or Umbraco?

I'm in the same boat. I build full blown systems, not sites, and everyone wants me to build sites. Lots of money in building systems, but more low hanging fruit for sites.

Re: Web Store Software
@Free - no, those are full blown CMS systems.
@Dd - I would choose Druapl with the Ubercart plugin if I was doing a "CMS driven site with possibility of ecommerce in the future" site. This is simply because I have worked with it before and think Drupal is pretty amazing. It also has a ton of support compared to the lesser known CMS frameworks.
I also did some googling and people seem to really like Magento and others for ecommerce specific sites. I'd probably check those out if ecommerce is definitely in the roadmap, but I wouldn't be able to speak to their CMS abilities.

Re: Web Store Software
In doing some more research on this.. it looks like Wordpress has over 50% market share for CMS usage.
I knew it was the top of CMS usage but I had no idea it was that high.

But, but, I thought WordPress was a blogging platform.
