Chickenpox

Post by Ddrak »

Sucks. How do kids deal with this shit and not grow up to be mass murderers?

(OTOH, it's funny as hell for everyone else, and I totally get that).

Confused. You got it as an adult? Isn't that dangerous?

When I had chicken pox, I think my fever got so high I was hallucinating. I remember seeing bats flying out of the ceiling. I'd chase random non-existent cats and I saw a giant spider living in my mother's sewing machine. Pretty freaky experience.

Nah, I got it.

It's more dangerous than as a kid, yes. On the scale of "danger" though, I think about 1 in 100 adults that get it end up with more serious issues (mostly people that are already immunosuppressed). I'm pretty comfortable with those odds for now. Tell you in a week how it goes.

And no spider crawling bat fevers here. That's really weird for chickenpox. WTF Harlowe!?!

I think fever is pretty common with chickenpox, mine was just high, but not high enough to be dangerous. I do recall my mom saying the doctor said my hallucinations were "harmless".

That giant spider in the sewing machine desk-thing didn't look harmless!

Harlowe's got a pretty sweet doctor, though... not too many medical professionals would think to treat chickenpox with LSD.
