Did you guys catch the first episode? It's pretty over-the-top. It seems like they try to out-gruesome the previous year with their irreverence to sensitive subjects.

I was almost covering my eyes through this one. Tasty Season 3 with 50% more torture!

Yeah, it's pretty gruesome in an awesome way. Kathy Bates, holy shit.

I can't wait to see more of Angela Bassett, too.

It's one of those that I feel like I've lost a bit of my humanity watching it. Seriously, it's almost traumatizing!

I love that it's traumatizing, though. (And then I feel guilty for loving it.) I enjoy how he takes these super cliche horror tropes and completely mangles them. He's done it every season, and you have no idea wtf will be around every corner. A dude in a pig's head? Nazi experiment zombie? Satan?

This season is promising to be especially gross with sacrifices and hoodoo and such. The gore was definitely cringe-worthy during the 1st episode. (shudder) It's like Ryan Murphy, Freud and Hannibal Lecter went into the worst parts of my unconscious psyche and splattered it all over the screen.

Piggy man is still the creepiest thing on that show. Last night was close when Kathy Bates tried to maker herself a minotaur.

I love this show! I enjoyed the season 3 pilot and generally like the "x-men school for the gifted" thing that is going on. There was a lot that went on that first episode.. witches, gang rape, murder, potions, drinking human blood, etc. I think Kathy Bates found a great place to showcase her talents.

They are really going all-out this year though with the shock stuff.. I mean it isn't "witch voodoo doll jerk off of a Minotaur" or "incest mother/(zombie)son rape", it's both in 1 episode. wtf?

Getting the vapors over seeing effed up shit on American Horror Story, is like complaining about nudity in Playboy. It has been over-the-top from the first season and each season they seem to up the ante from the previous one.

They should go back to watching Real Housewives of Whatever-I-Don't-Care or Grey's Anatomy.

LOL, Harlowe, I know. I mean, yeah! It is FREAKING ME OUT, but in an awesome way. But there are people coming in who are absolutely "grossed out," by all the paganism happening. Apparently Satan inhabiting a nun and making her want to fuck things (and rubber man, piggy man, and Adam Levine putting spit on his wang before doing his GF) was just your average television programming.

Tax, it's on sites like Gawker and even some reddit areas (of all things) and a few forums. People on the GRRM forum are like, "What the fuck?" and I'm like, "Okay, you read George RR Martin. WTF?"

I mean seriously. They just go on TV and announce that they are witches......presumably who have killed people.......and everyone in the world just accepts the fact that magic is real and these people can do whatever they want with little to no repercussions? That was freaking stupid!

I felt extremely "MEH" about the last couple episodes. Definitely felt rushed and ever-so convenient. It was a disappointing and anti-climactic ending. Jessica Lange's performance up until then deserved a better send off if you ask me.

Not awful, but totally fulfilling.

I think it was a bit meh, but Misty Day in frog dissection hell unnerved the holy Eff out of me.

I thought all of their personal hells were pretty tame. Serving chicken to rude customers, dissecting a frog, having your lover leave you.. Meh.

I think seasons 1 and 2 were much better overall, however I'm happy with the ending of Coven. It did feel a little rushed but if you remember the ending of season 1, they kind of went crazy on the last episode as well.

They've done murder house and ghosts, serial killers, school shootings.
The Asylum and demon possession, Nazi experimentation, aliens, skinface killer, Adam Levine unzipping his pants.
Witch stuff, voodoo, witch-hunters, some ghosts.
