Re: video card
Nothing different between a graphics card & video card. PCI card is just a card that goes into a PCI slot. Which you would not want to do with a video card. You need to find out what slots are available on your motherboard, but it's a pretty safe bet that you at least have PCIE 1. If you can give some info on your motherboard or something we might be able to make a suggestion. Alternatively, you could pop out your current card & give us the make/model of it & we could probably determine which kind of card you needed. Maybe even take a picture of the end that plugs into the video card & post it on imgur for us to see.

Re: video card
the card that i now have is integrated into the mobo. needless to say it's garbage. i've been to the dell site to try and get specifics but mostly i get pages that won't load. this is an optiplex 960 with win 7. my guess is that it is about 3 yrs old. not positive as i traded it for my laptop. i can't find out anything about the mobo but it has an intel core 2 duo cpu E8400.
