I liked it. It only suffers from the fact it didn't need to be remade. Even though it doesn't have the amount of violence the original did, I found that it felt darker because of the unveil scene.

It was certainly more unsettling. But didn't you feel the procedure was rather extreme after they showed his body and the limited damage that explosion would have done?

At what part of my post did I say it was not extreme? I agree, they went way - way too far. I feel it was written to show he didn't need all 4 limbs done, and then on purpose leaving nothing but what was needed to keep the skin on his face alive. To make him as indestructible as possible, and more so to show the public that he is alive. Even when they literally destroyed him in doing the procedure.
