This just in...

President Bush has formally declared "war on earthquakes." He's promised to deal severely with faultlines in this new, bold campaign.

"Any nation which continues to harbor a faultline will join in the fate of that faultline."

Turkey, which currently claims one faultline in its borders, that threatens to quake on or near Istanbul by 2006, received an ultimatum from the US Embassy: Surrender the faultline or face invasion.

Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer released a statement in reply to this ultimatum that read as follows: "WTF?"

2?

Try hundreds if not thousands. While most are not nearly as major or face as large a slippage as faults such the one in California that caused the most recent quakes in the US the rest of the states are littered with faultlines.
End the hypocrisy!

I voted FOR the aid to affected countries before I voted against it.

There's a fault line that runs under eastern Nebraska. We get the VERY occasional small shake (Most people don't ever notice them, and I've never heard of any quake damage in the 20+ years I've lived here). But from what I've heard, it would be more than capable of producing a major quake, and has in the distant past.
It'll suck to be us if and when that happens. None of our building codes are up to earthquake standards, I'm sure.

Yes, but most of those have never cause any harm. Only the Terrorist Fault Lines (TFL) (tm) are the ones that we should be going after. Like San Andreas, and New Madrid.

Ah so this is just a political "War on Earthquakes". You do not think that they are all bad, just some of the more vocal and attention getting fault lines.

Do you really think that when you capture and detain the leader of the San Andreas TFL that the war will be over? The quakes will continue and nothing will stop it until you take them all out!
End the hypocrisy!

Good thing the Dems didn't take the Whitehouse, otherwise there'd be a new government agency devoted to reform and rehab of faultlines.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

When it's so much easier and fun to just capture, torture, shoot, rape, and otherwise humiliate them!

What are these fault lines you speak of? Why do you believe they are at fault?

The left no longer considers them "faultlines". They are now supposed to be referred to as "victimlines".
