White House officials predicted this afternoon that the budget deficit would hit a record $427 billion this year, including an additional $80 billion that President Bush will ask for mostly to cover the costs of the war in Iraq.

White House officials said today that they were still on track to fulfill Mr. Bush's campaign promise of cutting the budget deficit in half by 2009.
Can the Bush apologists on the board spin this one?

You would probably get a better response if you were to start with something other than a pointed insult. Generally speaking, yelling "Hey ass-clown" in a crowded room is not a good way to start an intelligent conversation. There are, of course, some noted exceptions to that rule.

I'm also assuming that Klast's intention was to HAVE an intelligent conversation. Which might also be a mistake. But, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt on both.

Well, lets see, if anyone that tries to argue one side of the article is a "Bush apologist" that makes anyone that argues the other side "Mindless bush haters", gee we could make it more fun and just say if you voted against Bush you are a mindless Bush hater.

Now hypothetically, if we dont know the Bush's detailed plan, lets try to guess at what it might be. Well, maybe he was planning on rendering all the fat in the heads of the mindless Bush haters to oil and sell it (nearly half ot the population) thus funding the budget. Or perhaps he was gonna nuke the populus centers of Iran then dump the Iraq elections and take control of all that oil. Giving the US REALLY cheap oil boosting the economy and selling the excess oil for money to balance the budget.

But to make an intellegent response either way, I suppose one really needs to know what the detailed plan. How can one make any reasonable predictions one way or the other as to its viability or possibilities of success, if you dont know the plan?

DISCLAIMER: For those of you with sub normal IQ levels, this is a sarcastic post, I really don't believe the majority of people that voted against Bush are mindless Bush haters. Nor do I think we will nuke Iraq.

I do think people that start a post offering a topic and then insult anyone that is going to take the time to discuss something with them BEFORE anyone posts, do fall into the "Fat Head" catagory. In this case the poster also seems to fall into the "mindless Bush hater" catagory.

There is hope though, take a lesson from Beek, he usually askes in a "so what do you think of this" tone to start a post, then rips the moronic repsonses and debates the ones that show honest thought.

Lastly I suppose this could just be a big fat troll, in which case, please ignore all of the above.

Not sure what Klasts' issue is with this but, ANOTHER fucking $80 billion? Why was it that we invaded Iraq again? Oh well, we'll just make the poor pay for it...

Of course there's another $80b. Did anyone seriously think there wouldn't be? I would expect several more installments of about the same amount to come before the US manages to disentangle itself.

The realistic estimates before the war were about $200b for the first few years and possibly blowing out to $2 trillion dollars if it quagmires badly. Of course, to find those reports you had to do a bit of digging and ignore the pooh-poohing of the neocons.

In some cases, yes. In others, no. I hate his profligate spending, I applaud his outreach to middle America, and I'm on the fence with his foreign policy. And he has shown the ability to lead the Republicans (which resulted in the loss of the Senate, House and OVal Office tot he Dems)

Oh.. and I'm definitely in his corner when it comes to smacking you leftist bee-otches around. How's the Supreme Court looking?

Just thought I would point out that while I enjoy pointing out how inept and cloystered Bush is, I dont hate him. in fact I think that his dismal transparency may ultimately be good for american politics in the years to come. If I could vote I would have voted for him, he cracks me up and would continue to crack me up long after I had gotten used to and no longer found amusement in kerry's physical appearance.
I only slam bush because he is the one on the hotseat, if he was not in power I wouldnt say a word because ultimately its mean and pointless to make fun of people who dont know any better.
When it comes down to it I have not found many American politicians that I could accept and endorse without making appologies for their blatent powermongering partisan bullshit. And I dont hate any of them, their a symptom of an almost institutionalized appathy that would really deserve its own forum if we were to begin discussing it with any seriousness.

Surprised? In hindsight, no, not the way things have been going. More disgust, in what this country is becoming.
