Harassment
To start off, I'm a 19 year old college student attending a state university in Colorado. The first semester I was at school I had this retard roommate that moved out a few months later because it bugged him that I was gay. When we were first roommates, we both exchanged eachothers cell phone numbers.
A month or so after he moved out, one of his friends, whose voice I recognized, left a message on my machine saying all this crap about me being a 'mo.' (short for homo incase you don't understand) I didn't really think much of it and deleted it off my phone. Now, 6 months later, I get another voicemail from a guy that I don't recognize saying some more stupid insults.
I know there are a lot of people in Colorado that like to harass gays but I'm pretty sure it's this kid again or his friend. Anyway, my question is: If this keeps happening, would it be possible for me to take him to court with harassment charges? What evidence would I need to do this?

Both calls happened when my phone was shut off so the cell phone, and voicemail, didn't record a call back number.
I realize *69 wouldn't help in this situation, but what does *57 do?

*57 traces back the last call, and reports it as a nuisance or harrassing one.
After three *57s, the number is blocked. If the call can't be traced back by *57, you are given a number to call, where you will be given a procedure to follow if the you get the same person/call again.
I mostly use it to block those repeated fax calls.

You could try not being gay anymore. I heard that the Senate just passed a bill allowing this, neigh, encouraging it. Chances are it will be against the law to be gay in 2007 anyhow.
Or you could just make that his life a living hell by spreading a rumor about how you moved out because your old roommate was 'too gay for you.'
Just some thoughts. That and buy a bulletproof vest if you follow my advice.
